The Dark Knight Rises - Trailer 2

Oof.

-The football scene CGI looks like something from a PS3 game.
-Bane looks entirely ridiculous
-the corny Catwoman dialogue is startlingly unoriginal and flat.

I loved the last one, but this is going to be a big goofy mess.
At to that the ridiculous looking flying vehicle and the Tumbler-esque vehicles in the city painted in camouflage colours and you've pretty much summed up my complaints thus far.

Hathaway looks great though. Definitely a massive improvement after Gyllenhaal.

Looks excellent aside from the weird field blowing up part. Maybe it'll make more sense in the movie. Also, seeing Hines Ward's name bugged me.

Bane looks fucking awesome, and it seems like Hathaway nailed Selina.

you just mad Catwoman represents the 99% lol

I'm not sure if I liked the pacing of that trailer... needed a bigger payoff at the end. At this point I honestly don't know what to think about the movie. I'm still positive though. It's Nolan.

That's actually about the only part that struck me as a decent idea (even if executed in bad junior-high level dialogue).

I love this pessimism, this is very similar to pessimism people had with the Dark Knight, its just that this time different people dislike it for different reasons, When movie time comes its just going to be the next big thing. Nolan's direction and writing is too good to mess up his last batman movie. Keep it coming

why are all apple trailers so washed out?

you know what would be amazing?

If that prison Bruce is in is made post the explosion in the football field, the field is the future prison of Bruce

As I said in the other thread, the trailer isn't very good as far as I'm concerned. A real mixed bag.

Should have played the Joker.

In TDK? Hell fucking no. In fact, I don't think Levitt would be a good Joker at all. He doesn't fit a menacing psycho mold.
And he definitely shouldn't play him in this.

Can anyone finish this line in the trailer for me?
"The mayor's been dumping _____"

I honestly can't hear it.
Funny enough, I understood Bane fine.

Bane blows up the footballfield and builds a prison, the one with the stairs. Imprisons every rich and powerful person in Gotham.

IF THERE ARE NOLAN'S MEN IN THIS THREAD, OR NOLAN HIMSELF:

Please edit football scene out entirely and replace it

I think you guys know you made a mistake and are just letting it slide

It will be a noticable injury at the end

He's saying that the mayor is going to dump Gordon as commissioner at election time as he represents the old guard from the time when Gotham was a cesspool.

Maybe wait for the film to come out and see it in context, then maybe complain.

I don't think I'm going to like catwoman.

The part of her and bruce dancing reminded me too much of Batman returns. I was expecting the infamous mistletoe line.

I am Hype

Everything makes me happy about this.

Yeah the Football scene doesn't look amazing, but everything makes me happy.

Okay Nolan, Just take my money.

Like was said a few posts back, I don't know if I like the whole callback to batman returns with the Dancing scene.

Talking about the Bane chant? I thought it was translated to "kill him" or something like that. I'm sure somebody else can say for sure.

They say in the trailer: it means rise.

Anyone else notice Matthew Modine in the trailer?
I read somewhere he's supposed to be an FBI agent, but everything we've seen, set pics and trailers, have shown him in a ceremonial police uniform.

Also, Wally Pfister is a god-tier cinematographer. Some of those shots...

High five.

I love the Alfred/Bruce stuff (Michael Caine bringing it, getting me all emotional in 5 seconds, goddamn), the political maneuvering to oust Gordan, the brief Selina scene, the prison flashbacks, etc. And there are some fantastically composed Pfister shots.

What I think I love most is that the whole thing seems to be wrapped in a layer of sadness. There will be no happy ending to this.

I agree but again Nolan has said publicly this is about Bruce/Batman redeeming himself. Ther has to be some happy ending, especially if it wraps up Batman's story in this trilogy.

Also the quick shot of someone sliding down Wayne Manor looks awesome.

Liked the trailer, but it did for sure needed a better pay off at the end. Why it didn't end with the shot of Bane throwing Batman's torn mask aside is still beyond me.

How long until we can expect the next trailer and start this whole ride over?

or
Batman dies
lol

I kinda got that impression from the context of the conversation, but do you know specifically what he says?

I meant in this of course. Ledger also didn't fit the menacing psycho mold.

Ohh well. Regardless of what I say in response to the trailer, I'm still going to see it of course. I just keep my expectations in check after The Dark Knight. Every scene with Ledger was absolutely fantastic, the rest of the film was mostly "just good".
