The Days of Arcade are coming for XBLA

Starting March 18th, we’re kicking off the Days of Arcade promotion. Much like the Summer of Arcade last year, (but bigger) the Arcade team has lined up six-weeks of blockbuster titles :

The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai
Flock
Hasbro Family Game Night
Lode Runner
Outrun Online Arcade
Puzzle Quest: Galactrix
UNO Rush

First out of the gate on March 18th is Hasbro Family Game Night. Following that, I’ll post each Monday what that weeks Arcade release will be.

As you can see, that we’ve got seven titles..for a six-week promotion. The Arcade team decided they’re going to surprise you one week when they double up the fun.

Outrun online?? That's tight.

I also saw in another thread Virtua On for XBLA.

No demo required for either one of these instapurchases for me.

I'm also interested in/curious about The Dishwasher.

Hmmm... Summer of XBLA got me 5 for 5 last year. I don't think that's happening again this time. Not every game on that list appeals to me, unlike Summer of XBLA. GeoWars 2, Braid, Galaga, Bionic Commando, Castle Crashers. Holy crap was that a good run or what.

I'll take OutRun for sure, Outrun 2 / Coast to Coast is one of my favorite arcade racers. Got my eye on Flock, too.

so does this mean we're not getting peggle in the foreseeable future? if so fuck this (not that i am hating on outrun)

Next week? NGai did say it was coming in March

It should be soon unless EBgames and Ngai are lying.

yeah i really am just going to wait until it's up. the thing has been delayed for so long it's really not good for me as a person right now to just put my emotions and whatever ASSHOLE is running the xbla release schedule.

carry on....

Someone remind me what splash pages are up on Xbox.com for games that aren't out.

I'm sure there are games up there which aren't listed here.

This lineup is pitiful compared to last year's. I mean, a few of the games seem neat, but you could pick any given 6-week period of the year and you're going to have a few gems.

Ditto. Though Puzzle Quest: Galactrix does appeal to me, as someone who bought both the original PQ and the XBLA expansion. But I didn't really dig the online demo. :/

Outrun is a sure buy (hopefully at 800 pts, but will pay 1200 anyway).

Others will depend on the price. Dishwasher and Flock looks interesting, but only at 800 pts.

I want Galactrix as well, but my guess it will cost 1600 pts which is a little too much.

So I guess we can deduce that Peggle is next Wednesday then?

next week is NCAA basketball, but a second (or even a third) game is a possibility, since Peggle is included in the Popcap compilation disk that arrives in March.

Also it is strange that VOOT is not included in the list, since Famitsu reported an April release.

Not sure if you read the OP, but it says we will get surprised with a week of two games rather than just one. Maybe that extra game is Peggle?

Lame. Bring me Virtual On and then amaze me with whatever on earth is coming to XBLA for the rest of the year probably at E3.

The MI6 level of security and smoke and mirrors bullshit that fucking clouds the XBLA release schedule is absolutely absurd. Sony at least lets people know whats coming to PSN months in advance rather than the "SURPRISE!!! Lets see how this sells with 0 hype!!!" approach.

Nah, I think they just mean since there are 7 games listed, one week will get two games. The next-week-release thing does make sense though, and gives me hope.

I can't fault MS at all over their recent stuff on XBL/XBLA. I think that XBLA has been steady recently and the deal of the week stuff (even if its just for gold members) is really good.

I think the only problem is that MS have too much coming and lots of games are going to get pushed back massively.

I hope we don't get messed around with too many 1200pt games that should be 800 though, im all for paying 1200 if its the true value of the game but some I feel aren't (I accept that others disagree though).

Hopefully we'll see Galactrix and Dishwasher early. Both day one's for me.

Dishwater has to be 800pts.

I see this game in the same (marketing) league as Braid and Castle Crashers unfortunately...

This "promotion" just seems like they placed arbitrary bookends around the release of some XBLA games. And why wouldn't they include Peggle in the promotion? So Hasbro Family Game Night is a "blockbuster" but Peggle isn't?

Damn. I was hoping that Galatix would be next weeks release. Guess there is only a small chance of getting it in March :(.

Days of Rolling Thunder, motherfuckers!!!

I'm more disappointed by what isn't on that list than by what's on it. Maybe this is why they don't announce release dates weeks and months in advance.

It's probably because they are preparing a special "Week of Peggle" promotion. Peggle doesn't share the spotlight.
