The Evil Within: The Assignment DLC is now live

I think its the result of the capture gear. When I'm playing it on my TV its the optimal brightness but it is captured way lighter. I'll look into my settings. Thanks for the feedback :D
 
Finished it! It was not bad for what it was...but I gotta admit I really missed the great gunplay.

Luckily the next part will be back to it. Also, this game has like the best footstep sounds ever.
 
Downloaded it yesterday, booted up TEW and then I got hit with a 4 gig update before I can play it........shit. I'll get to it as soon as I can, I guess.
 
On chapter 2. I'm not gonna lie, I kind of wanted to kick ass and take names as Kidman. There is a lot of stealth, and while its not too bad, the camera is bugging me more than the last time I played TEW.
 
uggh i keep getting stuck.

I just found the keycard and then something bangs on the door and I can't get out without being SCREAMED AT and EATEN

edit Wow how good are some of the creepy moments in this?

The one where you're sitting on the save couch and
someone walks behind you but then disappears
really got me a little bit nervous.

Then there's the one with the doors that are opening and closing - focusing on them makes something happen that I wasn't ready for.

Simple but really effective.

The first chapter is very good at establishing atmosphere. The background noise really starts to get to you.
 
I think I am blind or something but where in the game menu can I find the DLC?

I bought the season pass with my German account and I usually play the game with my US account (on which I finished the game). however i also can't find the dlc when I boot the game with my german account. It just won't show up

Help pls ;_;

Should be listed as downloadable content on the main menu.

Right click the game in your library, go to properties > DLC and see if it's installed.

Edit: ah PSN.

Yeah tried looking for that one but there is no such option. :(

The strange thing is that since I bought the season pass on my German PSN account, I can't find the DLC on the store page. It's really messed up. I figured that the huge update file must've been the DLC and that the season pass simply unlocks it but now I'm not so sure anymore.
 
Have you tried the web store? Getting the season pass just means the dlc are free/bought so you just need to go to that dlc on the store and download it.

Apparently the search function on psn is fucked up for this dlc once you bought the season pass.

Downloading now. 7 gigs, 4 hours. I hate this ;_;
 
I just finished the first DLC and it was great. Took me 3,5 hours and 19 deaths to get to the end, but I wasn't in any rush. It was much more fun than the original game, especially bigger emphasis on horror and playing stealth. The new enemies were original and I also enjoyed the boss encounter from chapter 1. Looking forward to the remaining DLC's. :)
 
New update that's about 1.2GB's hit Steam a few hours ago and it appears to have some The Consequence assets! It's probably coming soon so that'll be nice.
 
Oh wow! I'm honestly surprised to see it coming out so quickly. Was expecting mid summer given the months between the main game and the first part of the dlc, but hey I'm not complaining. I found the assignment to be pretty great. Hoping the second part is just as good.
 
A reminder, the second DLC, The Consequence, comes out in 12-16 hours on Steam and other places after. I'll make a topic when it hits Steam for it.
 
Can anyone with a ps4 please tell me if they ever fixed the camera for this game.
It was an amazing game but the fov on ps4 was god awful, black bars are fine but not when the camera is so god dam close to you all the time, i could't see shit half the game.
would be one of my games of the year and i'd happily buy both dlc extras if they patched it.

there´s no fix afaik,did you try to shoot like this? It´s less accurate though.

i was ok with shooting it was the general camera i had a problem with, coupled with an awful fov and janky character movement almost ruined the game, such a massive shame as the gameplay and art direction was stunning at times.
So jealous of pc owners that for to play this title properly, black bars are ok but not when the fov is so awful.
Fingers crossed a sequel not on ps3/360 that also fixes these issues for console owners, if they do then it will be so much better.

Same here, game ended up not being all I hoped it would(story and voice acting's fault mostly) but it had a great atmosphere and some nice mechanics. Would buy a sequel day 1 again, hopefully with the same level of optimization the 3rd patch brought. Or well hopefully even better.
