Finally watched this and the first was leagues better but I still enjoyed this.

And is there a reason Jet Li was in this for about 2 minutes? I was pretty dissapointed, the cameos had more screentime then him.

I hate to admit this, but I've never seen a Chuck Norris film. Is he really popular from his Walker, Texas Ranger show, or are there some bad ass Chuck Norris films I need to know about?

I grew up watching Arnold, JCVD, and Stallone. Maybe Chuck Norris was before my time?? Anyway, please tell me if there are some MUST SEE Norris films.

Idiocracy was enough to put him in my good graces for the rest of his life.

Truth. I'd never heard of the guy before seeing IDIOCRACY in the theater. After, I couldn't explain how awesome he was, because no one had heard of or seen the movie.

You have to be more specific when making such a claim. Telling us if you grew up watching that stuff in theaters, VHS, DVD or blu ray would help to explain the why you have not seen Norris movies.

And no, most Norris films are garbage.

INVASION USA is acceptable.

MISSING IN ACTION 2: THE BEGINNING was fun when I was a kid, if only for the scene that birthed the Norris meme.

They keep referring to him as the Lone Wolf because of his role in Lone Wolf McQuaid. He's called Booker because of his character in Good Guys Wear Black. I've never actually seen either of those. I'm more familiar with Missing in Action and Delta Force.

He was always in a lower tier than the other guys. Even lower than JCVD. But he had the best movies in that low tier. All of the Missing in Action movies are a whole lot of fun.

A lot of fun.

I became a Terry Crews fan with White Chicks. Horrible movie but he was hilarious.

I know him from Friday Series and from what I've heard Ice Cube wants to make another one, then I wish to see Terry Crews back again. I watch White Chick as well because Wayans brothers were playing and to find out that later in the movie that Terry is in as well. The movie wasn't so bad for me, all three gave lot of humor. I love these guys.

I mainly remembered Delta Force which I enjoyed when I was young, I don't really know if they stand up now though.

I just recently saw the Undisputed flicks and damn Scott Adkins is a badass. Now I'm kinda sad that he was sorta underutilized in this. Also sad that he died.

JCVD was the show-stealer in this one obviously, with Ahnold second.

I hope they bring back JCVD as a good guy in the third one, a good twin or something. Nothing is too ridiculous for this series anyways.

And throw in The Rock and Jackie Chan. Couture can be lost for the greater good....hell I'd sacrifice Crews for The Rock too.

edit: mad props to Chuck Norris on the Bruce Lee connection, but yeah the only film of his I remember/enjoyed was Delta Force

Really loved it. Everything that the piece of dog shit first film wasn't - funny, meta, entertaining as hell and exciting. The Expendables 2 is some good shit.

Loved it. Saw it twice over the weekend and it was great both times. A vast improvement over the first one. It was wholly more refined and I enjoyed the hell out of it.

Poor JCVD though. Time has not been kind to him, or any of these guys really, but it's most jarring with him.

That was pretty much the movie's fault. I've been watching some of his recent direct to video stuff and he can still go. I was more disappointed with Stallone and his apparent inability to take a bump.

I was talking more about looks. Speaking of Stallone, can someone explain to me why he runs so awkwardly? Is his leg damaged?

The man’s movies suck for the most part. I don’t know where this random love came from. Probably from the meme because he’s certainly not worth a damn as an action star. The best thing he did was get his ass whooped by Bruce Lee.

2 issues I had:

- CG blood was atrocious; in fact, there was a LOT of terrible CG work in this
- the opening 10 minutes......was it just my theatre, or was that shit like ear-drum shatteringly loud? I mean there's loud, there's "fuck yeah!" loud, and then there was the first 10 mins of this. The mix went down to normal levels eventually.

I think the love comes from the Chuck Norris jokes made about the Walker, Texas Ranger television show.

This was the worst part of the movie for me.

....and? Wasn't going to see the movie. Heard the chorus of people saying it was everything the first should have been. Decided to see it, and liked it. No big cheese.

Also its kinda creepy when people remember old quotes like this.

Hate to shatter your ego Yolo but I was taking a trip down memory lane through all the EX2 threads (Teaser, bootleg trailer, official trailer, hype, OT) yesterday and was paying attention to all the dismissers. Sorry for pointing out your hypocrisy.

To be fair, I do it all the time too when I see a shit trailer.

I remember watching Delta Force when I was a kid, probably the only Norris film that I ever liked. Also, Texas Ranger I caught every episode of that silly show. Back then I was really hungry for any tv show that had martial arts and kicking in it.

I actually thought there was something wrong in my cinema, my ears actually freaking vibrated during that entire opening.

Fair enough.

Pfft. Unneeded. That guy's pretty boring tbh. The Rock AND Jackie Chan are needed before this series ends.

Chris Hemsworth is my man.

GLad to know it wasn't just me. I was downright uncomfortably during those opening minutes.

Sly: I heard you got bit by a cobra.

Norris: Yeah. It was five days of agonising pain.
Then the cobra died.

Movie magic.

Don't ever butcher a Chuck Norris quote ever again.

It goes:

Sly: I heard another rumor...that you were bitten by a King Cobra?
Chuck: Yeah, I was. But after 5 days of agonizing pain......the cobra died.

If you have ANY love for cheesy 80s style action B movies, you gotta watch at least Delta Force 2 (Billy Drago's Ramon Cota alone is worth the price of admission here) and Lone Wolf McQuade which is classic Norris at his best imo ( it also features a badass David Carradine )

Invasion U.S.A. is super ridiculous fun as well, i'd recommend it!

Best part:

Arnie: I'll be back
Willis: You've been back enough, it's my time to be back
Arnie: Yippiekayey

That was just so funny coming from Arnolds mouth.

The blu ray will be released November 20th. Just in time for TG. :)
Turkey, stuffing, and Van Damme, what a holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to post something since I was banned for the entire run of this movie. :(

JVCD's signature roundhouse kick, i was like he better do it, then he does it on multiple occasions with finesse.

That was the highlight for me.

I couldn't believe how loud the movie was. Which was good cause I literally couldn't hear anyone else in the cinema talking.

Since this thread is on the front page..
When David Polland interviewed West he asked/assumed the movie was shot digitally.
West said it was all shot on film. Whoever was checking those dailies needs a different job.

yeah, it's ironic love, just like the meme.

Saw this over the weekend - enjoyed it. Will buy. Still not sure if I like it better than the first one yet, but if you're looking for more action and fun, this is your movie.

Fair enough.

My cinema was waaaay to quiet for most of movie, even the start, though I did see the movie at a smaller theatre after having seen one at the mann chinese which has a stellar sound system

I really liked the first one, but the improvement over it is undeniable. The only thing I think I liked on the first one did better was the final battle.

Everyone should go see it anyway. So worth it.

Finally saw it yesterday. Random thoughts:

-The first half hour or so was absolutely terrible, but it definitely picked up from there. For a lot of the film, I was thinking it sucked ass, but I walked out pleased
-The "dramatic" parts were laughably awful even for a movie like this
-Chuck Norris was absolutely awesome
-Holy shit, Schwarzenegger looks like he is 90 years old
-Van Damme fight at the end should have been so much better

Saw this a little bit ago myself. Was pretty terrible in the story department (ha!) but there was some decent action in the latter half. I gotta admit seeing three of my biggest action heroes team up in the last bit of the movie was awesome. I smiled the entire time except when they opened their mouths and verbally beat that dead horse to hell and back.

The CG was pretty bad too but I still had an alright time. Was nice to see an R action flick on the big screen. And i even had fun laughing at the hammy acting (dat Stallone speech on life).

Edit- Van Damme was a lot of fun as the bad dude.
