The blu ray will be released November 20th. Just in time for TG. :)
Turkey, stuffing, and Van Damme, what a holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to post something since I was banned for the entire run of this movie. :(

It shall join my Rocky III and Rambo blu-rays on my shelf of honour.

This was fucking awesome

Destroyed the first one. The action scenes were great, humor was great and seeing my heroes back in action was legit fun. Excellent pacing too!

JCVD was boss, needed more of him. Dolph lundgren was hilarious.

8/10. Ties with the Avengers as my favourite movie of summer.

Hate to shatter your ego Yolo but I was taking a trip down memory lane through all the EX2 threads (Teaser, bootleg trailer, official trailer, hype, OT) yesterday and was paying attention to all the dismissers. Sorry for pointing out your hypocrisy.

To be fair, I do it all the time too when I see a shit trailer.

was just reading this thread and saw this post.

you're weird.

Box Office Mojo has updated the global results for Expendables 2 and it's EXCELLENT news!! EX2 has now brought in $158.4 Million internationally and that combined with the $75.9 Million domestic haul puts EX2 at $234.3 Million Worldwide!! Expendables 2 is now just $40 Million away from matching the $274 Million dollar take of the first film. Just imagine if EX2 could have had a better start domestically....

The movie is making bank.

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=3523&p=.htm is reporting that THE EXPENDABLES 2 is burning up the WORLDWIDE box-office and at the rate it is going will pass 300 million dollars in a few weeks. We ALL know how this works. LOTS of money was made so there will be an EX3.

From Expendables Premiere

Having said that who should direct the 3rd and final EXPENDABLES movie. There is only one man for the job in my mind and that is JOHN "THE ETERNAL BATTLE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL" WOO! Yes, that is a line from FACE/OFF arguably JOHN WOO's BEST american made film.

That action classic came out all the way back in 1997, it is time JOHN WOO had a new best movie. THE EXPENDABLES 3 can be that movie.

Sylvester Stallone directed the first film in this series and set up the world and the tone perfectly. Then they brought in SIMON "CON AIR" WEST who did a fantastic job with the legendary cast. Now, for the final film they need to up the ante so to speak and JOHN WOO can do just that. We already know who they are looking to persuade to be in the next movie and from the looks of it, it looks like an asian feel is in the making. JACKIE CHAN has all but confirmed he will be in EX3, the Maggie character will more than likely return as will JET LI. Donnie Yen seems interested. ALL these asian stars would shine in the hands of JOHN WOO!

People these days seem to underestimate what WOO can bring to the table -- I think EX3 needs to close out the series with a BANG and be different. Imagine Barney Ross throwing a canister of gasoline in the air and Trench shooting it only for an explosion to take out 20 of SEAGAL's goons....Or Jet Li and Jackie Chan fighting side by side trying to defeat Nic Cage's goons (right after Chan makes his entrance of course riding a bike into a warehouse mid air shooting a machine gun in slow motion). Maybe throw in some Maggie action to show the boys how it is done to try to one-up them....John Woo knows how to make all this look good on screen. See HARD BOILED if you don't believe me.

THE EXPENDABLES 3 is going to be the last EXPENDABLES movie and possibly the last action movie Sly and Arnold make or make together -- it must be special, it must be bold, it must be stylish, it must be different, it must bring something new to the table, it MUST be a JOHN WOO film!!!

ABking!

I would actually be okay with John Woo.

Jean Claude Van Damme must return for EX3.

I don't care how you do it! Just pull a Double Impact and/or in reference to John Woo, the previously unknown twin brother ala A Better Tomorrow 2!

You know, as cheesy as that would be, the sheer awesomeness of it would make it sooooo OK with me. JVC was really good in EX2, he should play more villains.

I just saw the first one tonight and that was just great! Lots of over the top violence and all the action favorites in one movie! I only wish there was Bruce Willis and Mickey Rourke getting in the action.

Definitely will see the second movie when I can.

Expendables 3 needs Evil Expendables team for the Expendables to go up against, damn it!

I said it after the first one. I'll keep saying it until they do it.

I need that Vinnie Jones, Lance Henriksen, Willian Fichtner, Powers Booth, Richard Norton, Peter Greene, Robert Zdar, Billy Zane, Michael Wincott, Michael Biehn, etc. Madness! Throw Michael Jai White on Evil Expendables side because he needs work. I want a crew of the big balls scenery chewing baddies I loved in these movies.

Well you can forget about Clint in EX3
Producer Avi Lerner recently revealed that Clint Eastwood has been approached to play one of the bad guys in Expendables 3, while Nicolas Cage is already onboard for the newfilm.

Now, during the press conference for "Trouble With the Curve," ExtraTV had the chance to sit down with Eastwood and told him that Sylvester Stallone would love to have him in "The Expendables 3."

"He does?" asked Eastwood. "I haven't had the opportunity to see ['The Expendables'] yet. I haven't read any material." When asked if he would consider it, Eastwood replied: "Probably not. I'm probably more apt to direct something. Maybe I'll direct 'Expendables 3.'"

Feel like you just won't be filling your quota of explosions and other loud noises with the upcoming Blu-ray release of The Expendables 2? Lionsgate is promising that the title will have a little more oomph than typical Blu-ray audio options. When it's released on November 20, the Blu-ray will come packing a DTS Neo:X 11.1-channel encoded soundtrack.

We're starting to see more Blu-rays pop up with 7.1 audio, but apparently Sylvester Stallone and his action-hero cronies need to take things up a notch -- a few, actually. That said, this track is technically a DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 track with encoding for the extra height and width channels.

"The Expendables 2 is still a DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 mix, but it was specially optimized for Neo:X processing," DTS said in a statement (via Home Media Magazine). "While the Blu-ray will still deliver a stellar DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 experience on receivers not equipped with DTS Neo:X processing, those who have a Neo:X enabled receiver will be immersed in an even more impressive multidimensional audio environment, complete with height, capable of supporting up to an 11.1 channel configuration."

I just randomly checked in on boxoffice mojo and this has passed $300M internationally. The original did $274.

Based on that number, the third film should have a budget similar to the second: ~$100M.

Saw the movie last night and for some reason, I liked the first one better. Not really sure why but I just didn't find this one as entertaining.
