The Extreme Fever Peggle XBLA Offical Thread

Already sold 1376 copies in a matter of hours according to the leaderboards. This shit's gonna blow up.

That reminds me. I apologize in advance to everyone on my friends list for the obligatory mass recommendation message, but it needs to be done.

So it's Arkanoid meets Pachinko? Is it really as good as all this, or are people just buying into it from hype? I'm not understanding... might have to check out a demo or something.

The multiplayer in this game is really well fleshed out. You can end your turn early, and then instantly switch to your opponents screen to see their shot. Then after the match is over it shows the best shot of the match. It flows extremely well.

It's been popular for a bit too long on PC to just be "hype" I think.

Hmm. Just played it here at work on the Popcap site. Not convinced... am I missing something here? It just seems like you fire it off and hope for the best... if you'll excuse the expression.

FUCK why did i buy that braid premium theme so recently... only 650 points

wonder if i can just buy 150 points from zune.com

Number 6 in the world!!! Yes it is only 4 hours after release, but I feel good about it :)
I had #4 about 15 mins ago...not that it means anything, but it's still a buzz to be in the single digits on the leaderboard however brief.

Keep playing. It will sink it's nasty teeth into you before too long. I have the DS version and it's dominated my play time lately...

the excitement is in setting up and timing a good shot and watching the awesome reinforcement after you fire.

Me too. Does this version have the gold pegs/blocks that take you to the gem bonuses?

I thought the same thing at first but then it clicked when, on the demo, it would sometimes show you the tragectory of your ball once it bounced off the first peg...it was then when I realize how cool the physics are and how simple but strategic the game can be.

I can't wait to crack open the DS version.

Ended up playing a tonne more on my lunch break, as always its as great as ever.

Some just the same great gameplay over and over with little changes to your power every five levels. It works so well.

I am now the Zen Master :) and will be playing online tonight :)

Also each time I win I can't help thinking of Die Hard's safe opening scene.

No, that's a Peggle DS-sclusive.

Ok good, was wondering why no gold stuff was appearing. Already halfway through stage 3.

GT: bryehn

Should be ready for multiplayer after lunch (EDT).

lol. There's always one.

Perhaps the game just isn't for you. Its a simple aiming game based on accuracy. Different characters seem to produce different strategies. If you play it and don't like it, I'm not sure what else should be done to convince you because why people like certain things is as individual as people are.

I'm happy about my purchase of Peggle. Fun little game. The wife will enjoy it too.
What is the number you see above your character sometimes? It mentioned it in the pop up before the level started but I hit A by accident.

How many turns you have the special skill for after hitting the green peg.

Just played a little bit of peggle in the version I got when I bought the orange box on steam. But the hype got to me so I just bought it on http://marketplace.xbox.com so it will be in my queue when I get home.

Also found out that you could get the original PC version for $2.5 so bought that to while at work. Nice laptop game.

Oi we shall see!!!!

I'm up for some online around 5pm

I would so be there, but I am accepting my "5 Places Better then Gowans at Peggle Adventure Mode Trophy" at 5 PM. I would cancel, but I do not want the fans to think I am ungrateful....

I'm pissed that not only did I just get up way too late today because of being out too late last last night with friends, but I still have to go pick up a 1600 points card before I can buy Peggle XBLA...

Downloaded the trial just to play one level to see how it looked in HD, stopped, and turned off the 360 - now it's time to go to the city to pick up the points card!

Damn, there's waaaaay too many games for me to play right now...

YOU SUN-UVA-BITCH! :lol

Bought instantly before trying... awesome game. The online is so smooth and I love how they have it set up. Well done pop cap. I shall be playing this game often for the next year or more!

Better then thinking of Evangellion.

XBLA goty holy crap

Add my gamertag for multiplayer games

Just beat the first character and I already 100% 2 levels

Peggle-virgin here. Due to the GAF-hype, I downloaded the full version without even trying the demo, and now, three hours later, I want to thank you all. The game is absolutely sublime. So, so addictive. :)

I wonder if my 3 year old will like this game. I'm always looking for a simple but fun game he will understand. Too bad the edutainment companies haven't realized new consoles were released.

wait why are people re-buying this? what is missing from the pc version that this has?

4 player party play. Perhaps some of us want to play on Xbox Live with friends. etc.

I'm always baffled by this reflexive defensive posture from some quarters...

alright cool. I think I'll just stick to local pass the laptop play. Online play sounds like it would be a fun time waster...tempting. I'd imagine the conversations with random other people while playing peggle would be quite entertaining :lol

edit: I was just curious why I should buy it again since some of you seem very excited about this. I wasn't trying to question the thread's judgement. I'm trying to figure out what the fuss is about because I love peggle and this release has come as a bit of a surprise to me.

I would say YES YES YES. My Godson loves the game, and he's just turned four. It's sublime hearing him scream in joy, "I GOT ALL THE RED PEGS!!!!!"
