The nostalgia goggles with Smallville, come on. The series is literally 80% garbage, and I still love it. No way it's better than Arrow.
Though Reckoning still makes me cry which is something Arrow can't do.

I feel like Arrow S4 has settled into a comfortable groove.

Arrow, Smallville, Supernatural... Every good WB/CW show started being shitty from S3 onwards. Flash will be no different, enjoy the glory days while you can folks.

Yeah, this is a real fear of mine, but hopefully they can maintain the quality for Flash at least.

Anyway WHO IS ZOOM?!?!?!

Woah there bro, Supernatural was great up till season six.

Personal opinions of course but Supernatural S3 was a major drop in quality coming from S1 and S2. S4 and S5 were better but by then the show was showing its age. S6 onwards is a complete disaster.

The first three seasons of Smallville weren't good, what are you talking about?

The good stuff in Smallville is when they started exploring the mythology and more than just villain of the week teen drama, and for the first half of the series it was usually relegated to finales, openers and that one episode per season where Clark gets a new power. And red k was usually fun.

The production values were certainly a lot better early on, but that's about it.

The current season of Supernatural has been one of their best ever. The show has really turned around from its real rough patch after 8-9 & most of 10.

Season 1-3 of Smallville: Pretty decent
Season 4: Still good
Season 5: Da Hell
Season 6: At least Justin Hartley is good
Season 7: Get away
Season 8: Why is Starkiller Doomsday?
Season 9: ZOD THO
Season 10: Decent

Welling improved with each season and when Durance was introduced she sometimes was the star

Let's rank the 60s and 70s DC shows next.

I watched Batman 66 last year and thought it was pretty great. But if I had to:

Season 1: Great
Movie: Good
Season 2: Good
Season 3: Great

Gonna watch Wonder Woman 76 soon and hope it holds up!

Have there been any comments on how many seasons the Arrowverse shows are expected to go on for?

I hope there is no mention of the masked man again until like the finale of season 3.

Ratings are too good to talk about ending anything now.

It's a comic show, so it's not like they have an end-goal story.

Arrow is seemingly a lock until at least S6.

The Flash's ratings guarantee it a S3, which in turn guarantees a S4. And unless the ratings collapse it's going on until at least S6 too.

Legends of Tomorrow's ratings are easily good enough to land a renewal, but the cost to produce the show is a little bit in question.

The Vampire Diaries rocked its third season with the latter half of last season and this season being on point again, Supernatural's peak is clearly the fifth with 11 being fantastic again.

Seasons 4 and 5 of Supernatural are generally considered the best, and the current season is already close to being right up there with seasons 4 and 5.

Some day I'll finally watch Supernatural properly, and X-Files too. Because I needed hundreds more hours of genre TV to watch.

That's what summer is for: binge watching an entire series. That is what my wife and I do usually, and by the time we are done the new seasons of things start back up.
We either binge a new show or re-watch a favorite series all the way from the beginning.

I think the longest one we did was going through all of Stargate SG-1 one summer.

I have a closet where I put everything that I still need to watch. At the moment, there are 25 movies left. Once those are done, I can start on Smallville, Nikita, Spartacus, Monk, Columbo, Burn Notice, Dexter, Downtown Abbey, Friday Night Lights, Gilmore Girls, Miami Vice, Quantum Leap, Warehouse 13, 30 Rock, Red Dwarf, Xena, and that is not a complete list I think. You can do Supernatural and X-Files easily. You are the reverse flash, I'm just a normal guy.

I mean, 80% of Arrow is garbage too lol. The good episodes still have elements of trash in them that you kinda have to tolerate to get to the good stuff. A lot of the awfulness is concentrated in the CW DNA, which is why we get the intrusive relationship fluff on all of these shows. I don't think I'd say it ever elevated itself beyond the level of guilty pleasure and into the realm of great TV, even in its best season (2).

Flash and Arrow are soap operas with intermittent action scenes.

Go back and watch a filler Arrow versus a filler Smallville. There's literally nothing of value in an early season Smallville filler. I almost never skip episodes of TV shows, and I probably wouldn't skip anything on a Flash/Arrow rewatch but Smallville just has nothing. Arrow at least tries to have a cool stunt scene or a nod to the comics. There's something salvageable from each episode. Smallville has like fifty episodes that are "non-descript villain of the week" -> "main/recurring character is in trouble" -> "Clark saves them" -> "amnesia" -> "heartfelt talk at the barn with loved one" with nothing worthwhile.

It gets better once Lois shows up and they stop being afraid of indulging the comic book roots but those first three season are rough outside of maybe ~10 episodes.

You shut your dirty mouth. You haven't even watched s4.

I'm not saying Smallville is good, just that arrow has a lot of crap. Episodic Smallville could be ok from time to time, but for me it's a question of mediocre/bad monster-of-the-week show vs mediocre/bad continuous narrative. They are different beasts, really.

I watched the crossover episode.

I don't think I even made it to the end of S3. lol

Yo what the fuck is with people calling Smallville better than Arrow. some of you need to go back and re-watch Smallville if you think that. Arrow might not be fantastic, but it's certainly not bad or Smallville bad. It's just averaged out.

For now it is. And Smallville didn't have stupid flashbacks. That is where Arrow lost me.

Should have gotten rid of them after season 1.

Just a matter of time until they start with flashforwards.

Yeah, forreal. Watch Lana get kidnapped by Meteor Freak #114124 and tell me Felicity drama is anywhere near that bad.

They already have flashforwards, that's what the grave is.

Don't forget Clark creeping on Lana from his barn having his own Radioactive moments in every other episode while whining about the curse of his powers. Most of the characters had so many concussions they're likely candidates for CTE. I could rant again about how much I've come to hate Smallville, largely in thanks of how the show ended, but I'll hold off.

I mean arrow season 3 was hot garbage with zero redeeming features.

But it was still miles above smallville, that shit was complete trash top to bottom.

Honestly season 2 of flash hasn't been that good either, it's been pretty much on par with season 4 arrow.

I had a dream that Supergirl, Flash, Arrow, and LoT ended their seasons with red skies threatening.

It was glorious. Could you even imagine how hype that would be?

I'm hoping it happens at some point, that'd be a cool way to build the first half of next season of all three shows and a mid-season cliffhanger though the logistics of it would probably be a real pain in the ass.

Also, we're totally going to need a second OT aren't we?

Yo the flashbacks are usually so non-consequential that I don't really see them as a negative anymore. The show does weirdly well with being content heavy present day that you're not missing anything by having the flashbacks.

No shit smallville was always trash. Especially the first 3 seasons. It only seemed cool because they kept hinting they would do something cool and never did.

I had a dream over the weekend I was watching a crossover episode and it ended with Merlyn using lazer eyes to hurt Diggle at a cocktail party.

The best was the next episode preview which was just a grid of different scenes, that included Nightcrawler and Excalibur and Etrigan.

Did I forget to mention the time I got off the island, was trained as a government assassin / special agent then went back on it?

It wasn't worth mentioning until now.

Let's not speak of Smallville again

Anyway Lois & Clark is still king of superhero shows.
