I liked that Barry messing up the timeline a little actually did some good. Although I still don't get why he did that. He knows that Cisco survived that explosion when Hartley broke out. But they got a new ally out of it.

They have been giving Barry some really lame reasons to time travel versus the risk factor. First his mom, when everyone warned him (yet somehow all agreed anyway) that it would be catastrophic. And it was. He nearly ended the world.

Now he has to do it again, this time to train against an enemy he doesn't even know how to access anymore. And he fucks up pretty majorly.

They need to put the kibosh on the concept until they give some real reasons to risk it, otherwise he's coming across as kind of a selfish guy.

Good episode, but damn sometimes Barry is such a stupid imbecile. For a guy who knows what to expect when time travelling, he lets his guard down way too many times. I already got annoyed by him when he visited Earth 2, but now, he let himself be seen by past Flash, acts super suspicious near Wells S01 and basically gives himself away, acts like a moron when talking to Eddie, etc. etc. His behaviour is like that of a juvenile adolescent, whereas he's supposed to be in his mid-twenties easily in the series.

Obviously not Grant's fault, but Barry is poorly written.

I really do like the progression that Barry is going through with time travel. I may not be excited about Thawne's explanation for speed force enhancement since that pretty much burned him out. I am certain that will be explored in the future in the event they want to hedge out Barry Flash(Flash movie) for a Wally Flash.
