The Force Unleashed 'Ultimate Sith Edition' announced; screenshots, trailer, info.

I never understood the hate this game got (or is getting right now). Are people seriously complaining about his powers not being canon? In a videogame? Come on now... Half the fun of this game is being a jedi badass who is unstoppable. I love Star Wars, ESB is my favorite film of all time, but to complain about canon for a videogame is just ridiculous.

Uh, it's fine to complain about canon in this game because I do believe that Lucas wanted the game to be considered canon. =/

TFU has a canonical ending that, while not the strongest work in the Star Wars EU, does fit. It also has other "What If" scenarios designed for fun. I don't see why some people fail to understand this and try to blast the latter for not fitting into the canonical story, when it's not supposed to. And the new missions for this updated release fall squarely into the latter category.

Anyway, I already have the PS3 version, but will probably pick this up depending on the price, and possibly on PC depending on how well the port turns out.

will buy for sure

Force Unleashed story was better than the whole new trilogy , and Galen Marek shits on all post original films cast characters

hell the Force Unleashed should have been the next Star Wars film instead of the kiddie crap we got .

My friend and I beat this over a period of 2 days.
It was fun while it lasted.

This will give me an excuse to check out the DLC I never bothered with and the new levels look great.

Who doesn't love Force Pushing Wookies to their doom?!

For crying out loud the guy's a giant lighting rod of force disturbance and etc. I've watched enough of Stars Wars to laugh at that idea. I personally considered that to be a big negative point on the game but hey turned out ok from start to finish. Canon .... :lol

Wow, this looks awesome. Is it just going to be the tatooine level in the DLC or can you get the Hoth level on 360 as well? I'm glad to see Lucas Arts still paying some attention to this game, considering it was good but still fell short of most expectations. This DLC is definitely helping to make me forget about spending 30 minutes pulling down the star destroyer. I really hope future star wars games use the same basic combat ideas that were introduced in Unleashed, and make Jedi ramped up with their force powers instead of using basic force powers in a game like Star Wars Obi Wan.

What's with the new outfits?
Tusken Raider disguise for Tattoine. New Emperor's apprentice outfit for post-TFU-ending level.

We had a Jedi that was strong enough to take down both the Emperor and Darth Vader really fucking easily, would make Luke's victory at the end of Return of the Jedi seem insignificant... I never did like that ending.

Good to hear LucasArts didn't forget about PC. We like to spend money too (hurry up with the complete Steam catalogue).

If it's not too much to ask though LucasArts: I'd rather have a new Jedi Knight with Kyle Katarn.

This was almost a great SW game but as mentioned the bugs and platforming sucked the fun completely out of it. I would hope that they would fix the game first before making two new levels and doing a whole new re-release because of it; if this is the case, wow, what a stupid waste of effort.

Crap, just when I bought the game on PS3 too!
Well looks like I'll have to push off playing this even further in turn of this updated version of the game...we can all bet on Trophy support too. :D
Well..

As Gokieks said so eloquently, this expansion/DLC is a complete what-if scenario. The true canon ending is still there despite this added content. That's why people complaining about this stuff make no sense to me. Surely anyone who plays videogames and can comprehend a simple story can separate a what-if scenario from what actually happened in the main story.

On second thought, perhaps that is giving too much credit to some...

WOW! Good thing that I waited. I knew they wouldn't miss this re-release shit they've done so many times before!

:lol :lol

Well, I meant in general. Of course this is a what if scenario. He looks pretty damn goofy though =/

I would just buy the current version for 20 bucks as opposed to shelling out 60 (most likely) for the same game with 45 extra minutes of dlc content.

Loved the original, but there is no way i'll buy it for a second time only for the Hoth level. Stupid move not to release it as DLC imo.

The new suit looks bad ass though! The lightsabers on his belt are a nice touch.

What kind of weird accent are they giving the Emperor now?

Yeah, that got me too, very inconsistent voice double. Definitely tempted to pick this up with all the extra content after skipping on the original release, could do with a Star Wars fix.

What exactly is the Star Wars Infinity canon? It's canon, only it's not? Alternate universe canon?
The wording of it being "Infinity canon" is weird, but I think they're making a connection or comparison to the several "Star Wars Infinities" comic mini-series there have been. Each focused on one of the original trilogy movies, but then would branch off in some significant way. Though connected under the Infinities label their stories were separate; one didn't lead into another.
*One has Luke failing to blow up the Death Star in A New Hope.
*One has Luke succumbing to the cold and dying on Hoth, leaving the fate of the galaxy to everyone else.
*One has the rescue attempt of frozen Han going wrong.

Considering TFU has been out for a year. I'm hoping Lucasarts is actually refining some of the gameplay for the new re release. It would be nice to see improved controls and less glitches.

So whats the chances of this having trophies. Shouldn't it?
Just announced during Comic-Con, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Ultimate Sith Edition will release this fall, with trophy support. Although the Ultimate Sith Edition is a DLC expansion, you will need to pick it up at retail stores.

The new Ultimate Sith Edition will include the original Star Wars: Force Unleashed, all of the prior released DLC content, and a new Hoth level where you will confront Luke Skywalker.

We know many of you who have already purchased Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will be disappointed in having to re-buy the game, let us know your thoughts.

linked it in my earlier post.

+1

I'm glad I don't have to re-buy the game for trophy support but I want a patch (or a couple) for major bug fixes on my current version.

Love the art direction of this game. Will probably get this, especially with trophies.

I am usually a snob about art, and especially in more realistic games like this, but yeah, the art was good. So was the voicework.

I love me some DLC, but rebuying the game for one level? that's just foolish

Then don't? The Hoth level will OBVIOUSLY will come out as DLC. Might make a month or two, but it will. ESPECIALLY if we as the community don't buy this game and Lucas Arts SEES that the only way to make money off the Hoth level is to release it as DLC. Vote with your wallet, people!

TFU was great, not sure i'm gonna get these. i still feel bad for the devs who were laid off considering the success of this game.

Problem is you and many others are taking the VIDEO GAME as canon when it's not, the story is though. The novelization and GN adaption are presented in a far more realistic manner than the game was.

Same thing as the Jedi Knight games, you can't take exactly what goes on in a video game as canon when it's a video game... the shit that goes on is for gameplay purposes, but the actual story is still considered canon.

Sounds like a good value imo. $10 more than a Greatest Hits + added game and packaging content

I am there, I bought the graphic novel, the Wii, PSP and PS3 verisons the first time.

I was going to buy the DLC but for $39 I will just buy this release

excellent, so this is a new disc i will have to buy in store. I had been debating on getting the game but now I will just wait for this.

I was so confused, I thought that all the extra content would be dlc for ps3/360 owners and there would be a package on a shelf that said "the force unleashed: ultimate sith edition" for the pc.

Fark, me too! Caught it for $35 used, approx. two weeks before EB Games listed it in their Door Crashers 1 Day Only Sale for $19.89.

It's a pretty good game, but definitely never worth the $60-$70 msrp it was going for last September.

Yet another game that would have been purchased had it been released for the PC at the same time as the consoles. Now I have no problem skipping it completely.
