I finally got around to this to try a full pve extraction shooter. The game plays well enough now, amazing world building, atmosphere, soundtrack.

It's still in an early access state so it's a hard to recommend because it needs a lot of polish to go but if you get one buddy going with you then you can have some great fun!

This game puts GPUs to shame. If it comes to console it'll be PS6/Helix.

It's gonna be hard to make better robotic enemies than arc raiders, i do like the look of them but are they gonna move and think as exceptionally as arc enemies? That was what made me play 100 hours of that game...

I'm only on the first few areas but you have cyborgs who run at you in swarms quickly overwhelming you like a zombie hoard. You have ones that crawl slowly on their stomachs.

You have flying drones with machine guns of two varieties and spot you for others to come shit on you.

There is foot soldiers, super soldiers, small mechs, giant mechs, and tanks. Enemies will roam in a group and engage the other factions in combat giving you a chance to try to slip by. They are attracted to your sounds you make, if you fire at them, and if they spot you clearly.

Most arc enemies can just be cheesed by sitting in a building or cover, you really have a harder time cheesing shit here especially on the large open area maps.

I have not gotten far enough to see what else is going on but the AI here is good.

I haven't played prior but the community seems very keen on it. The movement update portion alone got people excited. I think it handles great but it's a slower methodical game.

I'm still waiting on some QoL changes. It can still be very janky, but from what I saw they already ironing out some things.

Yeah there are some basic things that are very janky like putting money into your safe or taking it out, how to select and see cosmetic skins, the prestige system, and tracking materials for base upgrades is a chore.

All easy fixes.

This should be a full single player with a 20-25 hour story. Such a waste of potential.
