There are some first-rate parody segments on The Simpsons but they almost always feel out of place... as if the writers want to work on Robot Chicken or something instead but they're stuck on The Simpsons so they try and retro-fit that stuff into an episode.

I think Angry Dad: The Movie was more parody filler than episode - they had lengthy segments lampooning Wallace & Gromit, Toy Story, The Triplets of Belleville and Persepolis. The Simpsons content felt like an afterthought and even then they managed to free up two minutes for Ricky Gervais to monologue in his self-deprecating, unfunny fashion.

So, i'm surprised Fox has not shut the service down.
I'm not sure it falls under fair use, but I think it's a net positive for Fox.

I'm just surprised that they're hosting every one of these gifs, and that it hasn't been overloaded yet.

Oh shit, that's a good point. That's a TON of bandwidth.
(Bandwidth is cheaper now, but geeze it's basically an ad-free public service, they must have spare bandwidth somewhere or extra cash)

They should really make these more robust.
Just have some sort of tag to allow more options. Like making text pop up on the next frame.
I would love to see something like this done:

This is great, now I can do simpsons gifs for my friends with spanish quotes. A little bit hard to find some of these with the quote search as the localization changed it somewhat so they made more sense for spaniards and timing (for example, Homer saying "Take that back!" with the knife is translated in spanish as "I'll kill you!"), but this is good stuff.
Little nitpick is that there is now special spanish characters like ¡,¿,ñ.... so the spanish quote can look a little but badly written, but nothing too serious.

Leaving some gifs specially done for spaniards.
