I played it and it definitely doesn't deserve it. It was not comprehensively better than mario kart 8. The open world is entirely pointless. Then there are the issues with intermission tracks.

Crossworlds is the worst Sonic racing game so far.

the whole driving model feels awful, and it is super shallow gameplay wise in general.

the intermissions have been patched last week in MKW btw.
