The games where the player kills the most people.

A decent chunk of Indiana's kills are accidental, also he never goes past double digits or makes witty remarks after snapping people's necks.
Going past double digits is just the result of it being a video game and a shooter to boot. What if Drake killed monsters the entire time? What about animals? Pretty much every video game protagonist plays manslaughter like a flute.

Drake made remarks after snapping people's necks? I don't recall that...

I'm not really for or against the line of thinking. He does kill a ton of people but I don't think he stands out as being that different from other protagonists. He just makes witty retorts in cut-scenes. He isn't some diabolical lunatic though that makes Sam Fisher look like a patron saint.

Genocider - 53,594 kills

Left 4 Dead has an achievement called "Genocidest" which required 53,595 kills

Also, depending on how you think about it, this:

Technically might be destroying the entire timeline with a paradox and therefore killing everyone in the entire universe.

Yeah he does sometimes, I've heard him quip "that was your neck".

But there are games that stand out by acknowledging the amount of killing and use it to develop the story, characters, or overarching theme.

Mama Robotnik just mentioned the Legacy of Kain, for example.

Well...that's certainly not very nice...

Well that's because LOK is infinitely better then Uncha...I mean, uh...

I agree UC3 is too desensitized in the context of the narrative. I also believe it is a byproduct of video game design and an argument that the blockbuster effect will never be properly applied. Some of the best video-games narrate against brutality and are way better then these cinematic adventures; SoTC case in point. However, this paragraph will bring on the pitch-forks so ignore it or something.

i try and kill all the soldiers in metal gear. no putting them to sleep for me. snake eater had the coolest feature out of all these game though and let you see all the guys you killed.

i sometimes wonder this myself, last time was in Red Dead Redemption.

Sundance Kid, 4 kills
Jesse James, 16 kills
Me, 1850 kills

I wish there would be an action game with a somewhat realistic touch to killing people. Even in Red Dead, Marston could have just shot everyone in the leg or use non lethal force to solve situations. But rarely in games the non-lethal or just wounding an enemy is a valid option.

Anyways, in pure human kills i say Red Dead since most of them are story related.

MDK.

"On a good day, only 2.5 million people will die."

Though technically you don't kill them, the aliens do. You just don't stop them quickly enough. And there's no in-game numerical reference to the number of people killed, so it's just marketing nonsense.

But man, MDK!
