I wish I knew about GiantBomb when it was still being built. I feel like I missed so much.

Oh well, better watch those "How to build a bomb" videos.

I remember watching one of the videos at the time and thinking "holy shit they are going upstairs... the magic place they have been teasing on the podcast for weeks, YES!"

And then NO ONE WAS THERE. SCREW YOU JEFF!! :lol

I don't remember if it's in that video, but he says he's actually not as good as he once was, mostly because he has the site to rely on now.

Also, I believe the Wiki idea is golden. There's only one flaw: not enough pages are filled up and, unless it's a high profile game, the actual wikipedia page about the game has more information than the giantbomb counterpart.

I hope that changes with time.

I think we need to a Dave video showing us all the dudes behind the scenes. And Giantbomb slaves interns too, the only one we saw was "Josh" and god knows what happened to that poor fellow.

GB needs to showcase their database more for casual visitors. At the top of the front page it says "World's Largest Editable Video Game Database" yet there's no mention of top contributors, best or featured articles, etc. Reward the people who have spent a lot of time contributing with a weekly news post or video.

The front page has a good layout with the wrong content. Who really cares what game was played the most yesterday? Or what everyone's 'status' is? Just give links to their respective Twitter pages if people really want to follow Jeff & Co. Show the top 3 games played instead of 10. Let the poor bastards toiling away on articles get a moment in the spotlight.

I can understand wanting an avatar or Ryan laughing or Jeff signing Kane and Lynch, but why would you want an avatar of Brad drinking milk?

i remember a old bad company thread on giantbomb where people were stalking Jeff from game to game and using the in game screen capture to take pictures

if you look on the bad company1 page on their site you can probably still find it

that site is creepy:lol

Well, I'd say its to be expected. You think of places like Gamespot or IGN or something and yeah, you kind of know the names of some of the reviewers, but GiantBomb kind of goes the extra step to draw attention to the personalities behind the reviews. We see Jeff, and Ryan, and Brad and Vinny in a way you don't see, say, Matt Cassamassina.

That obviously is going to breed a small amount of stardom, especially from within their own community.
 
Does the Heavy Rain Quick Look contain any spoilers for the plot of the main game? Because I haven't beaten yet, but really want a quick look to watch right now.

i don't think there were any heavy rain spoilers, they did mention there might be some, but i didnt notice any. its fairly spoilerish about the DLC, but i get the impression there was more to it than that. if you intend to play the DLC i wouldnt watch it though.

i stopped going to giantbomb. love their content (only click on videos/podcasts).......but that community, Coo Coo

huh. This talk of crazy prompted me to visit the forums, to see what crazy i could find. Didn't see any noticable crazy, but i did notice that the guys on the forums are planning to put together an "episode zero", like what the joystiq podcast did. a best-of, basically. Looking forward to hearing that :D

(so i can bitch and moan that they missed out my favorite moment)
