wasn't there a period of time where the games were really on the cutting edge graphically speaking. i may be misremembering but i think there was a time in the ps2 days when they were pretty much the best looking thing around, just played really basically/boringly. as for this gundam game, if i was 10 years old the giant robot lover in me would be all over this. but hearing some of the dialog as a grown man makes me want to stay as far away from this as possible.

Don't get it twisted, I'm not defending this game.
But to imply that the GB crew are being counter-culture (cultural?) by making fun of a Dynasty Warriors game is silly. Everybody makes fun of them. It's like Vanilla Ice or Uwe Boll movies.

Yeah, harassing Kessler is a long joke in this one.

Anyway, this game looks... kinda boring. Especially when you are fighting spacecraft instead of insects.
 
I've been pretty disappointed by who they have been putting on quick looks the past couple weeks. That, and their unwillingness to do anything like an Endurance Run even though it is by far the most requested thing by subscribers, makes me think I probably won't re-up when my subscription runs out. Oh well.

It would be nice if they did ERs for shorter games. I just wanna hear their commentary. But yea, it feels like they intentionally troll us by ignoring requests for more ERs. Do one hour a day. They have more interns now, let them do more work.

They've said they'll only do ER's for particulate games. And they ignore comments on them because of the constant requests they get every day. I'd love Vinny + Ryan to do a few adventure games like Puzzle Agent 2.

With all the preparation and planning they do for Quick Looks, there's just no time for another Endurance Run.

I put forth my Intern Endurance Run idea again.

Maybe guest one of the main staff every now and then, but mostly have two interns playing the game to its conclusion.

I like the Happy Hour. Anyway, they will never ever do a subscriber ER. I expect TANG to return after the hint and the fact the next few months are dead for games.

Okay, then Intern Quick Look, with a guest every day.

So you have an Intern and a different staff member each day (choosing between Brad, Jeff, Vinny. Ryan, Will, Norm, Gary, Anna or Rorie each day) so the main staff can still get work done, and the Interns can descend into madness.

Sounds horrifying. Main crew only for me.
 
Personally, I'd take one Endurance Run in place of all TNTs and Happy Hours, even if that is not possible or the popular opinion. I came to the site and became a huge fan because of work like that, and they are so steadfast in their refusal to do anything like it again. TNT and Happy Hour are fine for what they are, but it is hard to justify $50 subscription rate for me. Right now I am hoping they do something like Not Like This for the Star Wars Galaxies send off. That would keep me on board, personally.
 
Wow, Journey is much nicer on the eyes than I was expecting.

This will sound cynical but I think it might depend on how many of the original subscribers are retained after the first year is up. If a significant number of people don't renew, I wouldn't be surprised to hear them announce a members-only ER.
