So the game has a crossfire mechanic that's supposed to prevent you from spamming the same attack, yet in this quicklook he only seemed to have one offensive attack anyways...

Jeff rocking out to Immigrant Song made my day, haha

Seeing those guards made me think that the goblins just gave sticks to passing Muggles and told them to shake it at anyone who entered.

I thought they'd Imperio'd some actual Muggle bobbies and told them to keep watch. Also fuck you Ryan, you can't Disapparate out of Gringott's >:(

I actually really dig the look of the polygonal Rockford in Boulderdash XL's retro mode.
Its too bad that mode still has the terrible horn sound effects at the end of each stage.

The Deathly Hallows games wouldn't be too bad if they hadn't completely changed how magic is executed. To be fair the movies are partly to blame for that but they've gone even further with the games, no one saying the spell as they cast it and spells that are basically machine guns. Just annoying!

Wordless magic exists in the book universe so that's not too bad.

The machine gun wands were pretty damn funny though heh.

But Harry is kind of a bit shit at magic overall, compared to, say, Hardcastle McCormick, so him being able to piss out spells like that is pretty stupid :lol

Sniper wizards are the funniest thing ever though, so I'll forgive and forget. Plus, now, we'll only get this shit from WBIE! Probably

I'd say the movies are almost entirely to blame for that. everytime I see some battle where there's wizards left and right shouting stupefy or similar, it just looks silly. it's straight out of a GI Joe cartoon or a star wars scene with stormtroopers.

it makes it so easy to turn that into a game mechanic.

True but not to the extent you see in the movies or games. At least from what I remember.

Maybe now the movies are over we'll see someone make games of the books and not have to rush them out to coincide with a movie release. Harry Potter games could be very cool if they were just given the chance to be developed properly.

I was just about to post that this would probably be the first Harry Potter Quick Look that wouldn't be hilarious just based on the bad quality of the game as a whole, but then I saw the bridge thing. Sad that this is the last one of these, at least for a while.

Ryan can't aim. And I love the sound he makes as he plays a game, with those incredibly loud "clicks" constantly as he smashes the analog sticks as hard as he can every which way.
I wouldn't be surprised if he was playing in his normal host seat on the couch set for these recordings. If you look at how he has to play with those armrests on TNT and the Happy Hour, the controller is pretty close to the lapel mic, which explains the sounds.

Fairly sure they record Quick Looks in a different room.

Quick Look: MLB Bobblehead Pros (19:31) (Jeff/Ryan)

Are you ready for some BASEBALLLLLLLL?

Holy shit that is totally a Power Pros game just with these shitty bobbleheads instead of these cute guys:

I would probably get. Way cheaper than importing the latest Power Pro game from Japan but it looks like it's only coming to the 360.

That back guy is not looking very stoked to be there.

Indeed, they've shown the QL room before and it's a pretty ghetto location.
Well, they showed it when they first moved into the new office, but now that's the control room with the massive Star-Trek-style bridge console with all their livestream equipment, right? I dunno. I probably shouldn't make assumptions.

Did no one else find the guy that starts "dancing" after running across the screen hilarious? I was hoping Ryan and Vinny would crack a joke about it.

I would add "Haters gonna hate" if I wasn't so lazy.

Hahahaha wow! totally missed that, thanks for pointing it out.

I am enjoying this trend of Saturday QLs. A bit odd they'd pick Aquaria, though, because yeah, it's old. I bought it as part of the first pay-what-you-want Humble Indie Bundle.

I remember liking the demo, but haven't gotten around to playing the full game yet.

I've been a big supporter of Aquaria since forever. Nice to see them giving it a chance.

Same here. Nice to see it getting some exposure. I think a lot of people bought that indie bundle for world of goo and the others games got a bit ignored. Aquaria was my favourite of the lot.

Aquaria basically came out just around the cusp of the "indie revolution" I guess. A little too early to get all the attention that indie games get nowadays, but also late enough that it's a supremely high quality title.

It's my favorite indie game of all time, beating out the likes of Braid and Limbo. It's also my second favorite 2D metroidvania game (first being Super Metroid).

I give the game my absolute highest recommendations.

That's when I got it, honestly don't care for it at all though.

Not feeling this one at all, in fact it's making me sleepy.
The Quick Look gets quite intense. I got Aquaria with the first Humble Bundle and stopped playing right before the part I'm referring to in the Quick Look. I'll pick it back up. I don't like the art style very much and the controls are weird, but I'm a sucker for Metroid and its epigones.

a pic of the room was tweeted by Gary Whitta during the Celebrity Poker QL. that's the one i remember. i think they still use it.

That part killed me, too bad they didn't notice.

Really? I think the game looks fascinating. I didn't know anything about it before I caught the Quick Look. Now I'm considering it day 1.

Yeah, I am probably going to get it on release day on Steam. Does anybody know much about the length/price though? Looking at it, I think the 'story' of 15 or so maps that Brad describes is probably 6-8 hours, and I think $15 is the sweet spot, but I'm afraid it might be $20.

I have never played a 'god' game besides I guess the Sims series, but this looks pretty cool, changing land around and playing with fluid dynamics and the like sounds excellent. Also looks like a game I can play while listening to my numerous podcasts I usually am juggling around.

"The Staples Centre isn't going to rent itself" was the last push I needed to sign up for GB Premium.

Quick Look: Captain America: Super Soldier

Another Kessler QL. Can't wait to read all the bitching.

Bleh, another run of the mill comic-book character game. Graphics look pretty average, combat looks super repetitive. They mentioned Batman and Wolverine a few times and you can really see that in the combat...just not as polished.

The collection stuff is insane to the point of being utterly pointless. Did the developers really need to pad their game out that much?
