I could have seen New Super Mario Bros. Wii being played by that crew for hours. Its amazing how quickly that game makes people go from "Best Buddies" to "Enemy No. 1" within 5 seconds. :lol

Huh? I'm totally for continuing to do it! And it makes sense as a feature, definitely. There's nothing wrong with being a corporate mouthpiece for half an hour if you show integrity in all other instances.
I don't get why you're calling them a corporate mouthpiece. It's my understanding that it's common practice for devs to stop buy the offices of a gaming website to give a demo (Garnett could be heard on any given episode of 1UP Yours talking about a dev showing them a demo in the office). Even if this wasn't filmed, I doubt the Giantbomb guys would sit there and talk shit about a game in front of the devs that have been working on it for X amount of years.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like you're insinuating that the Giant Bomb guys are behaving a certain way towards devs just because it's on tape. I don't think that's the case. I just view the Quick Look EX's as a glimpse to what we usually don't get to see, which is a "behind doors" demo of a game.

I cannot envision myself playing this game without 4 people anymore.

Best quick look so far... From watching this, I predict widespread use of 4-player NSMBwii as a drinking game. Lose a life = take a drink.
After about 10 minutes everyone would be vomiting.

I've tried NSMBWii multiplayer - back at E3 and now here, and I still think it's woeful. It's so horrifically frustrating, as shown by the Giant Bomb Quick Look.

Single player though, it fine :)

I dont know man... its almost making me contemplate buying a Wii!! It seems like an amazing party game... imagine playing with your friends and dicking them over... seems like the perfect game to have after a few beers!!

Good natured ribbing will commence for sure!!

It actually looked like a pretty good time to me, like NES Contra-style backhanded hilarity infused with the power of two gamecubes

God that was so awesome :lol :lol

It's a party game, which means you have to play it with friends/family. playing it at E3 with people you don't know won't make it fun.

I played it 3 player at home 2 days ago, with people who I would consider gamers, and it was just messy.

Depends on what you're looking for - do you just want to dick around, or do you want to try and get all the coins with a friend? Because I've found it near impossible with the second.

I just watched The Saboteur video and while the game looks like fun, the animations are pretty bad. The speed of the animations seems to fast and it makes everything look like it has no weight or something.

Man, I only play Mario competitively. This nonsense is stupid! Platforming is serious business, people!

In all seriousness, though, this looks so damned fun. Any time I've played LittleBigPlanet multiplayer with somebody in the same room, it always deteriorates into madness. Overt attempts to kill everybody else, screwing with the jumps they are trying to make, slapping them and running away. It's some of the most fun I've had playing multiplayer. Granted, that game is also some of the most fun I've had playing single player.

Honestly, I'm just sad that this came out after I moved away from home. I would have bought this game first thing Sunday morning if I lived near most of my friends. I need to meet some people in Austin who want to get incredibly angry playing a Mario game.

NSMBWii looks fantastic, too bad I'd only buy it for the single player because I don't have any friends that live close enough that would come over and play locally.

It was designed completely as a single player game btw. The coop stuff was put in later in development.

edit: ugh wtf is that shit in your avatar. *adblock image*

That multiplayer looks absolutely awful, and no fun. I mean, really.
I know. When I have a terrible time, I laugh uncontrollably.

It does look pretty difficult with 4 players, though.

It just looks irritating, no? I mean, I LOVE Mario, and it would piss me off getting jumped on constantly and fighting over stuff and people finishing levels/diving into pipes before I have a chance to explore the levels properly... I think I might be too grouchy for it. Single Player? Sign me up. Multi-player? Not for me.

Thats the point of playing with more people.

Doc Louis' Punch-Out!! - 10:49

EDIT: beaten. Also I got around to watching The Saboteur quick look. I'm back to being pretty hyped about that game and might give it a pity buy instead of waiting until after Christmas when I'll hopefully have my PC fixed and a new 360; I just hope the PS3 version doesn't suck unlike Mercenaries.

My wife wants us to pick up NSMBWii... after watching that quick look I'm pretty sure it would spell the end of our marriage...

I hear you. I'll probably play mostly SP, too.

MP looks like a great party mode, though. Add drinks and friends and you've got instant hilarity.

That Dragon Ball quick look was horrifyingly unfunny, but maybe it's because nothing about that game looks remotely decent in the least and Ryan and Vinny were playing their horrible game horribly.

I played the demo, because I had nothing else to do. I looked just as horrible for the first fight, then I realized the special moves were as simple as "hit the right stick in any direction"

The game is incredibly unintuitive in general. They went through like four fights before realizing how the health bars work, and it's not even like you can fault them for it.

I completely get why Vinny likes it though. If you are looking for a Dragon Ball Z game, you're probably looking for a game that recreates the crazy ass in the air fighting at relative ease. This game does that. It's got serious issues, but so do DBZ fans, so it's all good.

edit: Also, half the fun was the fact that they were playing the awful game awfully. Hell, Ryan complained that it was too complicated at the end and the most complicated it gets is "hit the right thumbstick" :lol

It wasn't as entertaining as it could have been, though. It's not really a offensively bad game, and that's when they are funniest. Ryan just seemed to want to move on from the mediocre game as soon as he could.

The characters say "What" a lot.:lol

Bah, I still dislike Tenkaichi mode personally.

Although.....I kinda want to get the game now, damn itch for DBZ fighting.

The part with Frieza transforming about six times says volumes about how I feel about that character and Dragon Ball Z in general. God damn. Who needs that many forms? I've never seen a final JRPG boss with four forms.

I did like the part with Dodoria (pink guy) popping up behind Krillin, then just standing there. It's like a Bugs Bunny/Elmer Fudd cartoon.
