Doesn't matter what it does. Buying it gives money to them, so just do it. I would, if I had an iDevice. Fortunately, I know better.

Get it. It lets you read news, search the database and, most importantly, watch the videos on the move!

I thought the Mod Nation Racers QLE was pretty good. That track editor looks awesome. Helped that the person who showed it off was already experienced with it.

The Modnation Racers QL was constantly bothering me because the guy demoing the game was constantly acting like MNR was the first kart racer. It was basically

"I forgot to tell you guys about this revolutionary minigame where if you hit the accelerator at the right time during the start of the race, you get a boost off the starting line! Nobody's ever done that before!"

He was saying that it randomizes the countdown or something so it's not the same everytime. I didn't really understand it exactly, but there's some additional random element.

My understanding is that there's a slight randomized delay between numbers when counting down "3, 2, 1, GO!"

But it sounded more to me like he was pitching the idea of a boost start like it was a unique concept to Modnation. The same goes for dropping mines in a field of item boxes to trip up rival players. That's like, Mario Kart strategy 101.

It's because Jeff was terrible at the game mixed with online not having All-Star attacks.

I am also with Sinatar on the Quick Look EX's. They play like every other developer walkthough video on the internet. That Fairy Tales Fights one is by far the worst though.

dunno it's not available in my region ( superior PAL land ) , so I can't say anything , but according to many Gaffres in it's official thread and that Drinky thread , it's like the best game ever or something...I really don't know if it's just a big joke or not yet.

I thought that the dropping weapons backwards thing was just his way of saying "And, of course, we copied Mario Kart in this way. Here's how you do it in our game" without coming out and saying that. Similarly with the start line mechanic, it sounded like he was saying "Yes, it's the same, but as a warning it's not exactly the same" more than trying to tout it as entirely unique. But maybe that's just me. I am somewhat crazy and came away from this week totally stoked about Blur, Modnation, and Sega Racing (as soon as I saw that Beat was in the game, it sold me. I've got mountains of untapped Sega nostalgia for the non-Sonic franchises they haven't killed)

I thought that Modnation was one of the few QL EX that I liked (along with Darwinia and PB Winterbottom). When there's a relatively complex mechanic to be explained, like the editor in Modnation or the other two games in general, it can be best for somebody in the know to explain it. The problem, though, is that the only time a QL EX can be enjoyable is if you're actually interested in the game. If it's a boring game, or just a bad game, there's no reason to watch them. I've said this before in this thread but nobody expects open mocking of a game that's not even done with somebody who is making it right there. It just leaves little room for entertaining viewing when the game is no good.

God, how awkward would a Quick Look EX be of something like Darkest of Days or Rogue Warrior.

Or when he was running from the flower looking manjini things (I forget their name), when he had a flash grenade. The flash grenades pretty much exist only to instakill those things.

Duvalia. I've played that section of DE ten times and only ever got a flash grenade once. Brad got lucky and found one in the Quick Look, but then refused to use it even when Vinny kept telling him he should. :D

I kind of understand why Brad assumed the Machine Pistol wouldn't do much to the chainsaw guys, but it actually works pretty well on them.

Also, in the "for what it's worth" category, I thought the Saboteur Quick Look EX was very good too.

here’s what it does:


As I was sitting in my car earlier today waiting to get an automated car wash, I pulled up the giant bomb app and watched the RE5: DE quicklook and the time went by like that *snaps fingers*

Truly we live in an age of wonders.


basically, it gives you remote access to their videos since the iPhone/ iPod touch can’t play flash video.

Agreed. They are not as entertaining watching a guy do a whole PR shtick for 20-25 minutes.

I'm pretty sure it has crossed the line where it's actually so bad that it's good.
