I was getting extremely annoyed at Ryan until he said he was just blowing through it for the sake of the quicklook...I need to remember that sometimes when watching these :lol. It did make me interested in the game, however.

Looks like ass in fullscreen at that resolution. I use FF 3.5.5.

True. Since I upgraded my monitor to a 23 inch widescreen I can't watch GB videos in fullscreen anymore. I wish there was a medium screen option that would be nice.

Yeah I started getting annoyed at that too, "oh here goes Ryan again getting bored after 2 minutes and giving up" I thought but then he explained he wanted to get through it to show more in the Quick Look, that's fair enough.

Not that bad a Quick Look as I was expecting, think it gave a mostly fair idea of the start of the game.

Maybe it's just in the quicklooks but it really seems Ryan isn't into slowpaced games.

I think the most interesting part of Fahrenheit is the first couple of scenes where a lot of what you do really does matter. Like you can run right out of the bathroom/diner, or hide the murder weapon or if you talk to people they'll remember what you look like better, you can get in a cab or leave by train, etc. all those little details.

download it by using Flashgot and watch the FLV file via VLC it's way better.

He said about halfway through were this not a quick look he'd definitely be taking his time alot more and really trying to get as much dialogue out of every scene and explore every little bit of the enviroment.

Brad not having played Batman yet won't help either.
Didn't listen to the latest Bombcast? Brad said he's finally started playing it and is really enjoying the game. It doesn't mean he finished it in time for them to decide on GOTY, but at least he played some of it.

Yea, Brad said "it's up there". fuck yea

Ah cool, hadn't got round to it yet this week.

In the latest Bombcast, Ryan said he had never played a Silent Hill game. Why not start a SH2 endurance run? Jeff/Vinny did Persona, have Brad/Ryan play SH2. Brad should control the game because he's an easy scare while Ryan soaks all the insanity in. Game holds up pretty well and would only take a month or so to play through.

For IP, they should have taken the medication then drank alcohol.

there's so many awesome things you can do in the first two hours of that game. The real unfortunate thing is that it's so easy to Game Over, because I think it'd be hilarious if they let you keep digging yourself in deeper and deeper and deeper.

i really liked fahrenheit until aliens accompanied by very hard QTE sequences appeared out of nowhere. it just completely ruined it.

on giantbomb.com they have a thing where you can put together your own list of top 10 games of 2009 to vote for the user's best games of 2009. you just go to the games page and if it was released in 2009 you can add it to your list! pretty neat

Now I know to skip Heavy Rain. Jesus.

Indigo Prophecy is 100% the primary reason I feel nothing but trepidation or outright disinterest in Heavy Rain. Indigo Prophecy is bad on all accounts.

I'm shocked.

I was generally interested in Heavy Rain and have been for quite some time. Ive never played IP so seeing this quick look has done nothing but turn me off the game completely.

What about watching the actual Heavy Rain footage and judging it off that?

Man all the Fahrenheit hate makes me sad.

It was by no means a perfect game but it's teeming with atmosphere and before it goes off the rails tells a wonderfully intriguing story.

Watching that really made me want to see more. I've always been interested in this game, but never got around to picking it up. I probably will soon since I'm looking forward to Heavy Rain.

Those parts of IP may be somewhat boring to watch and the writing and camera cuts don't seem quite as good many years later but it was great playing those sections for the first time.

I was hoping that after the waitress interview scene they would have started the game over from the beginning again and do things completely different.

That first section was the only really enjoyable point of the game for me. After that I felt it lost, the stuff similar to that section get repetitive in a ultra-simple adventure game tight way, then the 5 minute long breath holding QTEs, massive plot holes and giant spiders randomly attack come in way before the second half of the game begins.

Oh Indigo Prophecy. How you could screw up so badly by the end of it is beyond me.
Really? The beginning seems pretty wank as well.

S'true though. The game has that one cool opening part with the murder and the morning after, then it turns into wacky alien ghost robots chasing you around for 10 minute Simon Says sessions.
Yep. But the first act is so, so good :(

It looks like more of the same shit seen in IP. So many useless choices and for what? To have a bulletin on the back of the box about all the choices?

Borderlands is Jeff's Goty for sure. You can tell whenever he speaks, he genuinly loves the game.

That's because it's a great game...for people with OCD. You're really have to be into the loot thing, because as a shooter it's nothing special.
