Brad’s deep, throaty voice is friggin’ scary. sounds nothing like him.

game itself is freaky as hell. Art design just weirds me out, man.
I don't think it's THAT weird. I always thought it looked like it's pretty much a direct copy of Belgian fantasy comic stuff from the early 90s.

it’s pretty weird. lots of birdmen and ogres and pat benatar hair.

But since I haven’t had any Belgian comic fantasy stuff from the early 90s, perhaps it’s making a stronger first impression on me than it might on others.

"La Quête De L'Oiseau Du Temps" would be quite similar at places, for example. Especially in terms of character design.

When the guy started clutching his face and falling to his knees, I said to myself "This looks like Night Trap...", then immediately after I did Vinny says "...So this originally came out on the Sega CD, right?"

This looks terrible.

The new ER really drowned out everything else that's awesome about GB, like the Quick Looks. I can totally understand why that is, of course. But it's kind of a bummer to me because Deadly Premonition seems to be rather transparent if you just take a step back and think about the characters and what's going on, so it's not really something that makes me wonder what could happen next. It was much more engaging in the P4 ER in that regard from my point of view.

Games aren't coming out at the moment. That's why they've slowed down elsewhere and launched the new ER.

Also yeah, DP's characterisation is nowhere near as engaging as P4's, but the weirdness makes up for that.

Whoops, yeah, didn't think of that. Guess I took the previously high frequency of QLs for granted to a degree.

I don't know.. The game is interestingly weird at places, sure, but it's just bleh a lot of times. I can somewhat see what they were going for, but they just did too much too bad in the end. The annoying quirks like the map system, the nonsense eating requirement or the fact shops are closed constantly drown out awesome shit like the weird smiles and the giggling deer in the pause menu. At least that's how I feel. That, coupled with the really transparent plot, is mostly annoying and boring.

Shops aren't closed constantly. They've just started to explore and were unlucky enough to do it at night or when it was raining.

And eating hasn't been a problem so far and adds some humor and quirkiness. Unless you're Brad, starving to death, and decide to turn down a turkey sandwich for a lollipop.

I guess that's possible.

Shops just shouldn't ever be closed though IMO. Why close shops? It's ridiculous.

Edit: Alright, I guess there's a thread for the ER, sorry for bringing it up again. (Monster Hunter Tri looks so much better though!)

Didn't they do a MH-QL already?
They did the demo before. This is the full game. In the demo, there's only combat, whereas the full game has more activities (Mining, scavenging, questing, forging items) and more environments.

One would sure hope so :lol :) Thanks for the explanation. Gonna watch in a bit.

Are you supposed to barrel roll all the time in that game or is it just something Jeff was doing? If I was playing that game all it would do is make me dizzy.

Quick Look: Monster Hunter 3 Tri

Follow the adventures of Goldblum with Ryan and Jeff!

aside from the improvement on the lightning system I don't see anything different than the PS2 games , clearly it's the same old engine , most of the animations , characters models are lifted directly out from the PS2 games , I understand that they can sell shit tons without any serious upgrades but this is kinda lame to me.

Good to see another Border Break fan. I played the shit out that game in Japan. It's such an amazing MP game.

They would have to re-engineer the game quite a bit for home consoles because of the lack of a touch screen.
