The GiantBomb Quick Look Thread

Has anyone watched Matt Kessler's "Kessler Kam" stuff on the Giant Bomb YouTube page? He is incredibly annoying when he talks in those videos. He's just got that "Hey! Everyone listen to MEEEE!" voice going on that's unsettling.

I like Kessler, but I can only stand him in small doses, like for QLs. If he gets to do one bombcast, I wonder if it will be $775 million legendary...

What? I love his Kessler Kams. It's the only reason I'm giving him a chance on the Quick Looks.
 
I do think people give Kessler more hate than he deserves. Not here really, but on other regions of the internet. Yeah, he's not as entertaining as the other guys, but he's the intern, cut him some slack.

As far as the quick look goes, man is EO III not a fun game to watch being played. Maybe its because I'm more of a casual JRPG player, but boy was that boring.

Ryan is so awesome. Between this and the Speed Tree interview, he knows the fine arts of trolling all too well.

edit : and to continue the Kessler hate train, yeah i don't like the guy's voice either.
 
Kessler doesnt fit in with the rest of the crew, but worst of all he's incredibly annoying; on one video they were commenting HL2 and he pratically bum rushed a guy at the mention of the game's gunplay, he's basically a stereotypical gaffer

But IRL, which is .. unexpected.

I still have no real issues with him. I'd survive if he killed everyone at Whisky and ran the show himself from prison. I'd miss the guys, yet time heals all wounds. But it would be .. unexpected.

I detect a pattern.

I like Kessler. His way of sending things up is close to Ryan's sort of humor, though coming from the opposite end almost. Hopefully, he'll get on quicklooks of non-boring games.

Hell yes, Frostbite! Loved that game as a kid and I was hoping they would finally shove it on Game Room.

As for Kessler I also don't like him much (far too enthusiastic), nor am I keen on how they keep on bringing in that guy from Tested - he was really getting on my nerves during the mailbag by constantly butting in and talking over everyone. I don't mind if the other Whiskey Media staff come in once in a while, but Dave, Drew and Mike seem to getting put into the background which is annoying since the Tested guy already has one website he should be focusing on.

Yeah, same here!!! I LOVED that game when I was a kid. Spend hours and hours on that shit back then.

I'm a bit dissapointed Jeff and Vinny didn't think highly of it, but I guess not everyone likes the crap I do :P

I hadn't seen that before :lol :lol Ryan and Jeff have a clear love for fake enthusiasm, Jeff's weekly Wiiware bits at the end of the Bombcast have very quickly become one of my favorite segments.

Honestly, part of me wishes they would extend these to one hour; because they're not giving themselves a lot of time to show off a lot of the new content. They spend a couple minutes in a zone and then move onto something else.

I understand that stopping and doing something like quests during these would be boring, but still, they always seem far too short. I guess it's more of a fault of the genre, MMO's are terrible to demo/show off in little chunks, you really need dozens of hours to take in everything.

They just need to make a better schedule and then stick to it. Jumping around from character to character is pretty lame because you only get to see a bit of this and a bit of that. And then you get the random requests that really just make the videos fly here fly there sessions :|

Also it would help if they had some HORDE representation :lol

how many times is the guy saying ''I don care'' and ''just finish that part already''?

and I used to love hime but now He is getting into my nerve. Poor Kessler.

and the hate for Kessler is just silly, the guy is doing his best to show off the game (in his starnge humor, but nevrtheless) and people arre just way too harsh.

To me thats just how Ryan is. Go back to one of the earlier podcasts and Ryan reads an email asking why is he such a dick all the time? (And Jeff just says thats how he is).

That quick look was fine to me. Ryan's usual humor combined with Kessler showing some of EO.

He was trolling the intern on his birthday. It was a 'joke.'
 
You know, after the Hydro Thunder QL, I decided to try the demo myself and strangely enough, the boat didn't feel wrong when it turned as in the video. Jeff was probably using an expert boat or something because it wasn't like that at all when I played it...

The QL might be a bit misleading, so if anyone was turned off by it, just check the demo. Personally, I think it's pretty fun. I'm gonna buy it.

They sound like new takes on old stuff. That wouldn't be that weird, since a lot of Castlevania's music is just new takes on old stuff.

If you play it as a single-player game expecting SotN 2, you'll think it's a 4/10 game. If you play it as Diablo + Castlevania combined along with a friend or two, you'll think it's 8/10 game.
