Unrelated, but has anyone noticed Jeff being very dismissive of recent games, possibly prejudging them a bit more than usual?

He's always been like that. Maybe that's what makes him a damn fine reviewer.

I think Other M looks pretty amazing. The animation looks pretty cool and I get what they are trying to do with the fast paced action. With those one hit kill things and such it looks pretty baddass.

Sure it's nothing like the Prime series and they are trying to do something different and I have to say that I kinda respect that fact. And no that isn't an excuse if the game is indeed bad but so far it seems like a solid game. I hope Team Ninja will make a second one.

I like the look of Other M. It's definitely missing elements that made the older games what they were, but there's a shitload of the classic stuff in there, along with some new things that may or may not work out.

Looking forward to playing it and seeing how it feels for myself.

I use the QLs to develop interest in something I might not have heard about or given a chance to before, but I don't ever really let them influence me not to try a game. That's what a rental is for.

To be honest, I'm less worried about Other M than I was now that I've actually seen it. Everything he said was already pretty well known, I thought, but it still looks good in action and Brad says he's been having fun.

And yeah: Jeff seemed really like he wasn't interested from the beginning. Honestly, when they're going to have someone just sit and ask questions without playing the game at all, Jeff isn't really the best choice more often than not. (He wasn't exactly engaged with Persona 4 in the first 30 minutes either.)

Watching the Other M quick look right now.

Personally, I think the game looks good so far, but that part with the two charging robots looks really, really irritating. Fighting aganist one enemy that has a missile vulnerability phase is one thing. But it seems to me like the entire FPS mechanic really isn't meant to fight more than one enemy like this (especially some scenarios in the video where a non-charging invulnerable enemy came up and blocked the shot of a charging, vulnerable enemy, and said vulnerable enemy still hit Samus). Hopefully they won't do stuff like that too often.

Maybe it's just not his thing. I'm pretty picky about my character action games too. I'll probably skip The Other M launch and burn myself out on the Vanquish demo.

i always found that vinny + brad is the most effective combo when i want to get the most information out of a quicklook.

man I played these a ton in arcades
Hey I remember this game. It was awesome.
I hope they bundle this bad ass, vibrating gun with the game:

Or there will be no buy from me :lol .

Man MoM does not look like the smash hit I expected. It looks like a solid rental at best. The auto-dodging, the on-rails running just turn me off.

So damn fine he plays a coop-centric game with heavy emphasis on replayability in singleplayer and doesn't even bother to complete the game once?

*fist shake*

Jeff likes very specific genres. I don't really trust him outside of those genres though.

Hell yeah, the Railworks QL was my favourite QL so far.

You should watch the Quake TNT. He was just destroying the competition.
Do they archive the TNT stuff? I've missed 2 I wanted to watch now :(

Guilty Party looks like a lot of fun. I'm not surprised that it was funny, because Wideload has always had that humor, from the spinoff from Bungie through Stubbs the Zombie and now this.

Fun fact: I'm 99% sure the character that Ryan picked (Ling Ling) is named after a decapitated dog's head in a jar currently held at Bungie's offices.
