Jesus, Game Room was even more depressing than usual. It´s actually fascinating to see that apparently still about 200 people bought Concentration. Those sound effects sounded like pure shit.
In one of the previous quick looks it was pretty clear that the leaderboards were fake. Not necessarily saying it's true for this but who knows if even 200 people bought it.

With Halo and Pax done for here is hoping more videos will be out in the next few weeks. This week was just horrible for previews/QLs :(

I'd guess also getting everything ready for the Big Live LIVE Show Live probably ate up a lot of the recording equipment and time. Hopefully there's a steady stream of content considering there's now people paying for it. That's kind of the give and take if you want money subscribers.

the HD vid has bad compression going on and the sound is desyncing further into the quicklook. I hope that´s not the norm now.

what resolution is it? I think 1.2gb is reasonable for 45 minutes but perhaps the compressor didnt do a great job.

Did you watch the stream or did you download it? :/
I tried both, it´s the same file you get so the desync is in progressive and download.

1280x720, the compression is bad when the image is moving, with "static" parts if you know what I mean. Plus overall it´s washed out somehow. I understand that you can´t have no compression at all, but looking at the filesize I have the feeling it could be better.

well hopefully its just a case of them experimenting with the settings in the encoder. its surprising how big a difference it can make if you just run it quickly versus letting it do a few passes, but it can take a long time. hope they have enough servers to have time to compress them properly.

Yeah, the bit rate could be a tad higher.

Yeah it could but it's still better quality than high. Strange, the test videos I looked at were better so I think it must be a bit wonky for this one.

I know they used to have problems with the P4 ER videos where the longer they went the less stable the machine they were using was. Maybe it's something to do with that.

The problem is that for some reason they've decided compress the HD videos differently than the other ones. With mobile, low, and high, they use x264, but for HD they use Quicktime (ugh). They actually used x264 for the two test videos they released, not sure why they changed it. It's causing all sorts of problems in their bug report forum. Dave mentioned that it'll get fixed this week, though.

Yeah, they could have at least given us another I Love Mondays before cutting and running. If only to stall our suspicions ;)

That is the quality you paid for!!
Yeah, not the best way to instill faith after a crappy PR move and less than amazing membership turnout. What the hell is going on over there? After the Halo Reach stuff it's been dead on Giant Bomb.

You didn't watch jeff's live stream yesterday? That is the bonus content son.

I love that in the first 5 seconds of the Game Room video there is an avatar in a T pose.
I would actually be sad if they patched that out now.

I looked up Thunder Castle and apparently it has multiple boards (including one with WIZARDS!) and multiplayer. Still, even if it was just that one screen, that music was fucking sick.

That was easily the worst selection of games in Game Room history. Which is really, really, really really saying something.

Jeff crashing video chess... :lol

On shitty hotel wifi right now, will take over an HOUR to download this. Tried to stream but it never even tries to load, weird because YouTube works fine if you give it a few minutes to buffer.
Switch it to "Progressive" if you'd like it to buffer. Or maybe you already have it in progressive and it's actually that slow, if so, I apologize.

Funny thing is GB already has a Sonic Adventure Quick Look.
Yes they do. And if you go back and look at it (http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-throwback-sonic-adventure/17-1325/), Sonic Adventure looks better on the Dreamcast. It's better looking and better animated than this Xbox Live Version. Why the hell is that? Even Sonic's model is different. Did they port the PC version or what?

For instance, Sonic's Fingers are HUGE on the XBLA version, not so humongous in the Dreamcast version. The cops firing/bullets hitting the ground sounds are missing on XBLA , and the "end stage" animation is much better on Dreamcast.

I am pretty sure it's based on Sonic Adventure DX.
