I'm torn. The animation looks great, and it's cool to see a game actually trying to teach new players stuff like triangle jumping instead of forcing them to figure it out on their own. But I'm not a fan of the artstyle, and I'm not sure that the battle system does enough to make it stand out from the Versus games. I'll keep an eye out but I dunno.

Also did anyone else get the impression that Mike Z really doesn't like Marvel 3?

His curly moustache must've fallen off.

Like I said in the Skullgirls thread, I don't really like the character designs we've seen so far (too doll-like), but there's plenty more original designs to be revealed yet, so there's hope. Otherwise, the game looks alright, though that name is an awful pun.

Never heard of this game before. Has taken me by surprise. I have to believe that these guys were inspired by Arcana Heart lol.

I have to say, I do love Jeff. He's a really entertaining guy.

But has anyone really ever respected his opinion on games? Cause I'm worried that people put too much faith in what he says.

He is playing Torchlight in the most boring way possible. He says in the Quick Look he's just holding X. How is that fun? I'm really baffled by him constantly these days.

I sound like I'm being overdramatic and maybe I am but it has been driving me crazy hearing him say things about games that are strangely ignorant.

It's like that Blood Stone thing a couple of months ago where he claimed you had to use the detective mode type thing on Bonds phone. Even when I hadn't played the game myself I thought it was pretty clear he was talking rubbish. Now I've actually played a bunch of it I can say with certainty you never need to use that vision mode for more than a few seconds at a time. Seriously, baffling.

You dont have to, but there's no downside to doing so except making the game experience itself worse. That's still bad game design: you can't balance enjoyment vs bonus

He finds it fun playing that way? Why does he play like that personal preference, plus if hes reviewing it he needs to see as much of the content as quick as possible.

How exactly do you want him to play the game? Holding X is how it controls on consoles and it didn't have any particularly negative undertone when he said it. Torchlight is just incredibly easy on normal difficulty. There's not much necessity for any fancy skill.

He played Bulletstorm like a doofus as well.

Both Brad and Jeff seem pretty stoked for Torchlight on XBLA. Yeah it's too bad the framerate isn't perfect, I'm just impressed they got the controls to feel right for that type of game.

For those who never played Torchlight: Avoid playing it on normal. There is no challenge at all and the repetition will burn you out pretty fast since all you do is run through the dungeons without resistance.

The framerate is a little worrying, but I still think I'll get this for my wife since she loved BG: Dark Alliance and Champions of Norrath back in the PS2 days and it'd be nice for her to play a proper game instead of just Facebook games for a change.

I think I want to play it, too.

There's no real bonus to using it though, it's only real use is to show you your objective. Which you very rarely need because it's an incredibly linear game. The enemy placement stuff isn't all the necessary either with the games crazy ass lock on aiming. He cited it numerous times as making the game shitty because it made everything look crap and it takes you out of the experience to see Bond just staring at his phone. He described it like that because he kept using it, which most people could and would see you don't have to do.

How about use the abilities his character has? There's a bunch of stuff he could be doing to mix up the combat a bit. If he has fun playing it that way then cool, I don't see how you could but each to their own as they say. He might have at least shown off a bit more for the Quick Look, I can see some people watching that video and thinking it's nothing but hack n slash when there's a little more to it in reality.

I don't really care for how you described it but I did skip that particular Quick Look cause I knew they probably wouldn't play it in an entertaining way. Actually I might have watched a little or was that a QL of the demo? I seem to recall seeing someone play it and just constantly use the same move over and over and the same gun.

I liked Torchlight on the PC, despite some annoying bugs and the lack of MP. 360 version looks solid and the controls sound pretty good. Shame about the frame drop stuff but as long as it does not happen too often, it should be fine.

I was under the impression it showed you the location of enemies through walls.

I just hope they do Mortal Kombat demo QL, I know they don't give a jack about PSN and don't usually do Qls for it's games but they love MK ( at least Jeff and Brad) and Ryan have PS+ account, so... please do it, pretty please.

Not gonna happen, peasant. You have to join us + elite to experience the demo.....lol.
Can anyone help out with a link to the live QL?
Edit-nevermind

This is my first time seeing the game, it looks awesome. I want it, and I haven't bought an MK since MK3 for the MegaDrive. I really want to try the demo now.

I kinda want it and I've never even touched an MK game before. I need to get more time out of Mahvel before I buy another fighter though, regardless of difference between the two.
