Do they even mention the PS3 extras? I stopped watching when it was apparent they weren't playing it on one.
This is getting kind of old. Realize that if one gets interested in the title after watching the QL, one tends to inform oneself what the best deal is before purchasing. So sure, it would be nice to hear from them regarding those extras, but it's not mandatory; the QLs are innocent gaming sessions with voice capture, that's pretty much it, don't expect a thorough investigation (or even a fact list readout). What you would reasonably expect would be about 30 minutes of pressing buttons in a game and some jokes being made about random stuff happening. And that tends to produce some valuable information that can help in making a purchase decision, but that's a bonus.

What about the Xbox 360's exclusive online play?
where in my post did i mention paying extra for a timed exclusive? especially one i would never make use of?
be attitude for gains: be serious or be silent.

i like the part where you never answered my question, i just wanted to know if they mentioned it mang, i don't need a ramble about QL watching etiquette.

Like they've said many times before, publishers almost always send out multiplatform games on 360. Also, as another poster attempted to point out, PSN is down right now, so it would make no sense to do a Quicklook of the PS3 version. Hell, even IGN had the good sense to post a disclaimer about it in their PS3 review.

As far as this extra content, you seem to be about the only damn person who cares. What did you expect?

"Hey Ryan, did you hear that PS3 owners get three extra tennis players and a Move mini-game?"

"Gee Coonce, that sounds kinda dumb and maybe a bit pitiful."

Yeah the two versions are probably way different. You wouldn't get a sense if you'd like it or not by watching the 360 ql. Maybe they'll do multiple quick looks like dragon age.

Both versions have something the other doesn't, what do you want them to do? Play it on all of them? They have to choose one if they even have different versions to choose from.

yes or no is not a part of your vocabulary? And don't refer to me as a "damn" anything, unless i can refer to you as remedial, deal?

pantyhelmet is a fucking awesome addition to the giantbomb threads and will be making great conversation with us many monthsdays to come.
2th demonstrated in the most recent bombast thread that pleasant characters like this one don't hang around all that long.

argghhh.. i really want to watch it since i have zero ideea of what the game is like, but at the same time i don't want to see any of the game before i get it. and its Ryan and Brad 'spoilers' Shoemacker..

this is tearing my soul apart

They play through the tutorial mission, so it's not a major spoiler zone, or showing a final mission.

they don't really show much, brad also repeats many times how he doesn't want to spoil. but i'm only half listening so i'm not sure.

also they're playing on the ps3, so nothing for pantyhelmet to worry about

Yeah, I would give this a very low spoiler rating. They do some of the tutorial mission which tells you exactly what to do but they skip out on the more detailed stuff. Show some of the interrogation stuff but jump out 1 question in. They also paused the quicklook at one point because they couldn't skip a cutscene. The rest is just driving around with vague discussion and finally a dispatch call. It's out this week but I wouldn't sweat it if your just after a fix lol

Oh god dammit! That quick look makes me want to buy LA Noire so bad. My excitement about the game was zero now it has gone through the roof.

Same, I need to find the cheapest place to get an order in.

I haven't been paying attention to L.A Noire at all and don't know a thing about it, but that quick look certainly has me interested.
How much of the game is made up of those Phoenix Wright-esque interrogation and clue finding scenes? That's the main thing that got be interested in it.

From the looks of it, that's pretty much the formula right there.

Quick Look: L.A. Noire (Brad / Ryan) (38:02 min.)

Oh man this QL was amazing.

I thought this game was just a shallow showcase of facial animation technology but god damn was I wrong. Those interrogation scenes were so tense.

I loved how much Ryan was just itching to rip the controller from Brad's hands, shut the cameras off and start playing. Great quick look of the game itself, surprising amount of spoiler-free coverage considering the players involved, lol.

Still not sure about the faces. I can't tell what exactly it is, but something is off. It's a bit jittery, jumpy, like it does not match the body/head motions.

Those flaws are in every game, even those praised with pushing animation forward. The more real something look, the more you notice it's flaws.

yeah ever since the first trailers I have noticed this weird disconnect between the head and the body animation.

Probably what happens when you record the face animation away from the body animation, Just a limit of the tech I guess.

Good QL. Brad really did his best to not spoil anything.

Sure, but people are acting like it's perfect. It is not and it will never be for realistic enivonments. Thats why I always prefer the more stylized games.

The facial capture is damn incredible. Seriously cannot wait to see this tech used for other games later on. Really raising the bar.

Does anyone else find the volume on Quick Looks to always be too low? I had to set the volume on my computer up to max to be able to hear Ryan and Brad and as for the game, I couldn't hear it at all. Meanwhile everything else on my computer is like HONK HONK!

Holy WOW is it ever! Just watching the Quick Look now and it's unbelievable!

Bah, we're going to get there eventually. And once our industry does it, it'll inevitably trickle down to the game industry when they reach the appropriate tech level.

Seriously, the facial animations are amazing. We've seen games before that have pretty detailed faces, but bad animations, but this looks really really. I could see why Ryan was so mindblown by it.

I was trying to figure it out myself when I watched a trailer a while ago. I think what makes them look especially odd is that the faces while amazing animated lack any real detail. There's no blemishes or, for lack of a better word, texture to them, they're just very flat.

It's something GTA IV suffered from too although they were somewhat stylised so it wasn't too much of an issue. While Red Dead actually had some great looking faces in that regard.

By the way, at least from the Quick Look, the sound that appears whenever you discover a clue or get something right on an interrogation sounds exactly like the chime from Deadly Premonition when you transition.

LA Noire is paying homage to it.

The face->body contrast gives me major Last Express vibes.
