Hmm have I missed something? Where's Jeff?
Week long Pre-E3 special showcase, where he's told everything that will be announced on E3 prior to the announcement, so he can prepare meetings and schedules. I also think there's a voting thing and he's a judge of some sort. He knows way too much about things he can't talk about by now.

He's going back to LA tomorrow, afaik.

Hm, the hating on Garshasp was a little bit too much from Ryan.
So what was it like being a developer for Garshasp?

Seriously, that game didn't even have a "so bad it's good" quality. It was just dull and uninspired. And had improperly programmed cutscenes. Yeah, Ryan was totally off base insulting this master work.

He treated it as a full price game basically. For an indy game it was quite well done I thought. At least its not worse than the tenthousandbazillion 2D platformers with an incrdible unique artstyle.

I love indie development (I'm starting a project actually) but a 3d brawler is about the last genre you should pick for a small indie project. It looked literally painful to play. It's extremely solid for what it is, but it clearly didn't have the pure manpower/money for the spectacle and refinement the genre demands. A real shame because the the people involved clearly have a lot of talent and passion, but picked a project way beyond their scope while offering nothing original.

I dunno, I thought that Wall of Forever was so bad it was good.

It reminded me of Sonic 2006, personally. I dunno. I don't see how, even at $20, this game deserves defending. At least, say, Deadly Premonition had charm going for it. This is a stale saltine cracker in video game form.

Basically, my point is they wasted their effort on a boring version of God of War. If they tried for something more unique like indy devs I admire I'd be less willing to agree with Ryan's cynicism.

That Sega Rally XBLA quick look made me go reinstall the PC version of Revo. The game still looks fantastic and plays just as well.

You can build a modest PC for around 700 that can make the game look like this....

You picked wisely.

If you already have a case, HDD, DVD/BR drive, then you can save yourself a little more money. You don't need $2000 HW to make it happen.

I built mine for 1k a few months back BUT I also added some stuff most wouldn't like after market GPU (50) and CPU (40) coolers. Back on point. More folk need to experience this game :)

I run the game quite fine on a $500 PC from almost 2 years ago. (Granted it's on medium, but it runs fine and looks fantastic.)

I would bet 500 bucks would get the game running on ultra if you shop around for deals.

Videos load very weirdly after the update, I usually need to start the video, pause, refresh, then start it again.

I can't play this. It just keeps loading and loading and loading and...someone help me!

Shitty new GB redesign.

Edit: I had to turn Adblock ON to get it to work. That's...wierd.

The game...is slightly less wierd.

What browser do you use?

The new video player is rather poor. Trying to skip ahead or back or change the volume is an exercise in futility, it seems to only occasionally register my mouse clicks.

Whatever is wrong with the site must not be too bad, as I am still downloading a few of the items (QLs, old TNTs) I started downloading a while back.

Patrick should just play, he tried to show more stuff by loading saves and ended showing absolutely nothing in 27 mins and ruined the quick look.

I wouldn't say he ruined it, but yeah, skipping around like that was kind of weird. Made it a lot harder to get a sense for what the DLC was like.

It was also a lot shorter than I felt most Quicklooks would be, especially for something like an RPG. Though I guess the assumption could be made that they've already done like three or four Fallout QLs, so there's no need to retread ground like that.

But still, three or four saves in 27 minutes is kind of much. Would've been better if he showed a little bit of how you get in to this new area, then jumped ahead to meeting that one leader guy, and then just playing from there until time was up.
