i don't know how much you know about whiskey media subscriber culture (ams an expert), but honour and shame are huge parts of it. i am outraged, i say outraged that there was no subscriber live show last friday. the only way whiskey media can make up for this is to publicly apologise and have an extra live show of Jeff playing Virtua Fighter 5 for 12 hours on friday, and cancel final fantasy XIII on xbox 360.

Oh wow, the remake of Hollywood Homicide looks terrible.

Actually, the whole game looks pretty bad and not just graphically. I'm not sure if this is even worth picking up on Steam sale.

Yeah, that looked pretty aggressively boring. I'll wait for the inevitable cheap Steam deal in a year or two or something, if I still care.

Also lol at when Jeff accidentally continues and they suffer through more loading. This game probably doesn't help the flu or whatever he has.

Despite all its faults, the game is not utterly terrible but really does feel old-school. Personally I am now more interested in Gearbox making a fully fledged Duke game without 10+ years of baggage and using modern tech.

Yea when he started that level I was thinking to myself "man theres no way they could mess up the remake of this level is there?" Yikes.. it's almost like they stopped trying.. Looks like they slapped a bunch of those steel roofing plate things all over the place.

Will and Ethan did have a live event on Friday. you lose

I hate to be that guy, but the beginning of the Duke Nukem quick look really made me wonder if Jeff had played a video game before. Maybe use the break a bit more on the elevator crashing towards it's doom? Not jump in a bottomless chasm?

Made even worse by them showing the 360 version although I guess it informs people not to get that version unless you really like load screens.

That quick look was a real downer.

Wow, it seems like the little bit I played was representative of the entire game. Looks absolutely horrible.

Glad I didn't pay for it.

I'll buy it for $5 on a steam sale just to say I own DNF but yeah, looks bad.

Edit: After watching the QL this game comes off as really misogynistic. Killing tied up, naked, crying women made me feel uncomfortable and I never feel like that towards games. Chainsawing people, going on wild rampages in GTA, running them over in cars, great, but that...it felt wrong.

I've only been playing on the PC, so I'm unaware of its console brethren.

With that being said...HOLY SHIT at those load times. It's 5 seconds max on the PC. Inexcusable. I don't even want to imagine those load times with the game not installed to the 360 HDD.

And those multiplayer maps? Ever play a SD-only game on a HDTV, but only using the jank-ass red/white/yellow cables? Yeah, that's what they look like.

My god...

Are you just supposed to hold RT right until it gets too hot (gets close to the end of the meter) and let it cool off then pump it back up again as many times as you can?

EDIT: According to Jeff (who's beat it) you have to time it? Seems kind of stupid.

I really had no idea what you were supposed to do until Jeff told me.

I wish DNF forever had been made they talk about in the video, with Duke just being Duke but everyone else thinks it's kind of sad. The game should have been about Duke coming out of retirement but everyone thinks it's 14 years too late.

But you don't have to time it! You can just do it the way you described. Just keep braking and occasionally letting off when it's about to overheat.

I honestly wondered if there was a problem with the game when I loaded that level it really looks bad.

Probably would have been better if they played the PC version though, the load times were a lot quicker there.

They certainly came in hating, but I'm not surprised, it looks horrific, and Jeff had to play thru it.

I know those guys interview Randy quite often, I wonder how the media handle things like that. It must be uncomfortable.

Gearbox didn't make the game though. They just finished it off. 98% of the game was finished before Randy even touched it.

Indeed, Randy bought it. It's like saying, "you bought this piece of shit?".

Lol at the voice clip repeatedly telling him to pull the trigger and him just ignoring it.
Them just being quiet for most parts of the QL doesn't help either. DNF is probably going to get a 1/5 or 2/5 max.

Could they be anymore anti dnf? Game looks stupidly fun, why does every shooter have to be a superscripted war drama?

Jeff is anti DNF because he's played through it and hates it, and that's perfectly fair. Game looks really boring to me.

Yes that's exactly why they didn't like it. Very perceptive.

These beer swilling CoDElite subscribers just don't get the not-at-all-misogynistic meta-irony of the crying titty wall.

having finished the game a lot of stuff didnt make the cut. instead it feels like they took the few fully playable levels they had and extended some areas to make the game longer. a lot of the game feels unfinished and under developed. there are some fun segments but playing through the game you have to wonder why nothing came together after so many years of developement. imo they should have finished the version from the 10 year anniversary trailer.

anyway DF is average, maybe 5-6/10 but it's not awful. the humor is duke and while cheesy, dumb and dated it didnt bother me. i think there's a growing pompous asshole like attitude spreading in the games journalism industry. some editors are becoming too full of themselves and anything that isnt up to their own artificially inflated gentlemen like standards is garbage to them.

an easy example and repeat offender of this can be heard on weekend confirmed. he did this with both bullet storm and duke saying he's too good for the stupid humor and wont play the games for that reason alone. a few minutes later he'll make the lamest dick or your mom joke.

Brad: I played the good guy in InFamous

Brad: You can get Ice or Fire Powers. One is bad and one is good, I wont tell you which is which

*Brad talks about using ice powers*

Also, the other one is fire. Fire. You know who else likes fire? Satan. I'll leave the rest to you

Fire once had religious connotations to good. It brought light and stuff...

... I learned this from Stargate!

I'm pretty sure Randy Pitchford knows how poor of a game it is.
