The GiantBomb Quick Look Thread

I love Brad's excitement when he first gets his legion.

Hadn't even heard of this game, but now I'm thinking I'll pick it up at some point. I loved Pac-man CE DX.
 
They just did a 'sequel' to one of my fave quick looks ever on the Happy hour and had a lightning look at some xbox indie games. Very Nintendo Download Express. Jeff face is perfect in it.

Pac-Man Party and Shaun White Skateboarding are highly underrated

I gave Cars 2 a rent after watching the quick look. It's pretty good, it looks great, there's an entire build in achievement system and some of the races are downright challenging. The A.I. certainly isn't afraid to fry your ass with the satellite super weapon when you get out in front.

It catches most of the good moments from the quicklooks into one series (You can find the rest of the videos on his channel, or most likely the related videos to the side.)

Only bad part is you lose the context and it's mostly just a hilarity-reel. But you do get to skip the boring parts.

I don't understand what's going on here. They keep talking as if the CE DX team "fixed" Legions and made it something good(which I think is bullshit cause I thought Legions was pretty great)

Aren't the people who made CE DX and Legions DX effectively the same team who made vanilla CE/Legions?

I like the part where Batzman stepped off camera and suddenly when he was back in the shot again he was spiders. It reminded me of that scene in Moonwalker where Michael Jackson turns into the car.
 
That was a pretty decent quick look, but Brad, my god Brad. I'm seriously baffled by the lack of comprehension from the Giant Bomb crew some times.
 
So I guess they aren't doing a Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3 QL of Amuro Ray the newscaster and how the Ramba Ral is doing in the market?

He says he doesn't play much multiplayer to be fair. But yeah. There was no point to him sticking with a sniper. IMO.

But he sucks at everything and if he especially sucks at multiplayer why doesn't he get someone else to play?

Because that's his shtick. Plus he's a good balance to Jeff's saltiness. He seems to give games more of a chance. Brad's great.

On counter point, I'm impressed with how good Ryan is at some games. Alice 2 throws out some really tough fights, but he was ducking and weaving like a pro boxer once he got into the swing of things in that quick look. I don't know where I get a low impression of his skills from. Also, he is sick at Tetris.
 
Brad is awesome and he's the best reviewer and writer at Giant Bomb imo. What happened to the good old days when people used to have fun and laugh at how quickly Brad dies in games?

As much as I enjoy watching QLs to get an insight on the game, it's maddening to watch them play games without having first played it a bit. They often fumble through it, miss out on obvious clues, die to really easy enemies, and make it generally frustrating to watch.

Their Endurance Runs in the past were similar. Watching Jeff and Vinny play Persona 4 drove me nuts, because they were constantly making really weird decisions in battles, prolonging them.

Yeah his KDR was just below 1.0 in a couple of the matches, that's like average skill. Also he pulled off that baller move with the riot shield.

Also, Brad wasn't playing as poorly as they have in other ql's.

He's pretty darn good at Starcraft, and why does it matter so much whether he's good? It's been like this for ages, Brad dies in Quick Looks from time to time and it's funny and it's how Giant Bomb works. I completely agree with hamchan. Also, if you don't like Brad, just don't watch Quick Looks with Brad.

Honestly Brad's gaming skill wasn't the issue here. Just the sheer lack of feature comprehension. Especially after already having played some of the beta
