The GiantBomb Quick Look Thread

I don't care much for the information provided in their quick looks. I do however find their chatter quite entertaining and as a result those 15-20 minute run times don't bother me at all. After seeing the cruddy slow pace of New Super Mario Bros in commercials, trailers and read previews by editors who aren't mario elitests such as myself I considered the game to be a pass. Then I watched Giant Bomb's quick look and suddenly the game just made sense. It wasn't a typical mario singleplayer affair. It was about taking that Zelda 4 Swords Magic and putting it into the mario franchise.

Edit: Fixed that because apparently there's only 26 pages of QLs so I added whatever was left.
 
wow thanks, i'll check some of those. they should index them by who is in them (or someone should make a database or something)

those are all the dave ones? how depressing :( i'm tempted to start a petition to free Dave of website stuff and just make him a member of giant bomb who does nothing but record quick looks of pc games every day.

There might be a couple I missed but that's the majority of them. I basically checked every PC game they QL'd to see if Dave was mentioned.

The best is Vinny x Drew/Dave. They egg each other on to sillier and sillier QLs every time, especially open ones like sims and Deus Ex above. "Throw the can onto the body....YES!"

The DA2 quick look unsold me on that game. Well, not entirely true. Everything I heard about the game before release unsold me on the game, but the quick look didn't help. Both games had terrible marketing though.
 
As much as I'm glad to hear Jeff's voice again I was wishing he'd shut up for a moment during the Gears 3 thing so I could work out whether that's Claudia Black voicing the Australian lady. I'd recognise that syrupy purr anywhere, but not with Jeff and Brad talking over her.

Just watched the Gears video.

I still remember first playing Gears 2 for the first time and being awed. Somehow, it just doesn't seem to be the case this time round.

Still day 1 though.

- Brad can't play games

- Patrick is annoying they should fire him

It took me watching a damn youtube video before I figured the game out, after a few hours of playing it.

It doesn't help that Brad expected the game to be Deus Ex and had only killed 3 bad guys before starting the QL.

Indeed.

I understand the game doesn't do alot of hand holding and that QL aren't meant to be super informative, but the fact that Brad had no idea how to even heal himself was pretty sad.
 
What they're doing is all great, you can tell they put a lot of work into Dance Central 2. That said, not my demographic so all I get to enjoy are these quick looks.
