Why wouldn't you? Headshots in RE4 doesn't always mean an instakill, but it still does the most damage and makes the enemies stumble, which allows you to kick them.

Doesn't headshots make the monster pop-out of their heads? It's been a while since I played it, but I do remember trying to avoid the head because they're harder to kill when las plagas is activated.

53 minutes, can't wait to see Brad suck at this game. I truly hope it's not Brad or Jeff.

It will probably be Brad... or maybe Patrick? I can see it already: "Rolls wizard, auto-attacks with a sword for the entire QL". "Wait... you can equip items?"

I'm joking :P

I haven't done detailed tests in RE4, but I confirmed that headshots increase the chances of las plagas in RE5 (there's 2 types of las plagas spawns: the ones which happen regardless of where you shoot the enemy, and the random ones which only happen if you damage the head of the enemy somehow). I made a video showing that behavior as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGO8v66JR3E
I'm fairly certain I'm the biggest RE5 geek in the world.

Maybe RE4 works the same way. It wasn't immediately obvious in RE5 without doing proper tests (since there are enemies who are scripted to always mutate no matter where you shoot them).

So what would you say is the best method of killing with a pistol. Shoot in the knee and hope for a melee prompt?

They might, I never really analyzed RE4 that much to know for sure. Regardless though, the area they were playing in the QL was before it's possible for the head plagas to pop out.

I am like 99% sure that people tested it in RE4 and the Plaga coming out is determined randomly when the enemy spawns, not whether you get a headshot. You can shoot a dude in the chest and his head will still pop open.

Has it started for anyone else? Black screen for me.

Bah, I was really hoping they would pick something other than Witch Doctor after having watched Day9 play WD for a couple of hours yesterday.

I haven't seen the QL but... when it becomes night time when you shoot their heads off bad news happens

I didn't know you could switch skills at any time (in Diablo 3). Seems like that will break the game's difficulty and make things less interesting. i.e. as a wizard, you can just swap your skills at any time if you run into a specific element immune enemies. Will destroy any need to team up with other players. Hopefully they have come up with other incentives for teamwork

But more importantly, it will be boring cause everyone will have the same builds in the end game.

edit: o wait. I forgot about runes. Nevermind (to an extent)

I have to say, I am REALLY enjoying this. Ive never watched a live quicklook before, but it is fantastic hearing Rorie gush about Diablo 2, my personal favourite game of all time.

He shoots the pocket watch into the dirty well

Then shoots the block to cover it up

Then opens it

Then he says "I dunno?" not even putting it together at the end

My inner nerd is screaming
Yeah but he was able to pick it up before he even shot the wood prop.

Looks as amazing as usual. At least Vinnie knows how to play the game.

It's before nighttime. Headshot are mandatory at that point in the game. After night time you shoot them in the kneecaps and fuck them over by roundhousing them in the face.

Fuck, this quicklook probably made a lot of people interested in Monk...

Oh well, more free fools to slaughter in arena.

Well, I dunno what method is best for preserving ammo (although that's not really a big deal in the long run, even on pro difficulty you should become a walking tank after some hours of play), but for mercenaries I primarily went for simple shots against the torso. It's quicker to aim and enemies die in a few shots anyway.

Low level projectile characters in D3 don’t look too interesting. The monk looked more fun for these early stages of the game.

I’m sure there will be more fun skills for those projectile/ distance characters later on but, for this QL, it only cemented my desire to play with a Monk or Barbarian first.

Yeah, I watched it now.

As someone who played the fuck out of RE4 it was hard to watch. :P

I'm usually not the type to be like that but... it was probably the last game I've beaten MANY times. I usually beat a game once, MAYBE twice. RE4 I beat a dozen dozen dozen times, heh. To see the dirty pearl, and his aiming and such... he buys the rifle for that bridge part then goes in guns blazing and agros all the gannados making the rifle pointless :s

God, Brad is terrible at RE4. And this is like the 4th time he's played according to what he said. Every time he has to reload he acts like he's surprised.

<3 Brad Shoemaker, seriously

I really do like Brad, but yeah, shit was terrible. And he has no sense of direction. Marvel as he jumps through a window, turns left, shoots a few guys and then forgets which direction he just came from.
