The GiantBomb Quick Look Thread

In my opinion, Giantbomb Quicklooks are THE best way to determine if I'll like a game.

Even if they hate the game I can tell if I'll like it. I watched the Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 QL and all they did was rag on it. However it gave me enough sense of the game to know I'd love it - sure enough, I picked it up and have been enjoying the hell out of it.

Thanks GB for the QLs, they rock. And we love you Brad :).
 
I can't blame the guy. There are plenty of irritating posters on this forum regardless of the topic of the thread. If there were pages of nerd rage posts attacking the way I played a game for 30 minutes, I don't think I'd bother reading gaf either. It is what it is, though. If you publicly show video of yourself playing games, you're going to get picked apart by the ultra passionate. There is no way around it. Inevitably, some portion will take it too far. If you don't have the personality that can just let that stuff slide, it best to just avoid it or it'll just make you unnecessarily angry.

Motion capture or not, it just quite simply looks good. It doesn't only look good for 2004, it looks good right now. Most modern games doesn't have as smooth and nice looking animations as RE4 and RE5 (and I'm gonna give RE5 some bonus points for making left handed variants of all reload animations. there's even a third variant in a few cases for a right handed female character). Capcom must have some kind of reload animation fetish, and I love them for it.

Killer 7 had some nice reloads on gamecube
 
I will say that the RE4 Quick Look was one of the only times I've actually become frustrated while watching a Quick Look, it's really only because I've played RE4 so many goddamn times that I know each level like the back of my hand. So seeing Brad get confused on such a linear game was pretty comical, but man I became that guy who talks to his monitor.

But Quick Looks are honestly my favorite aspect of GB. I still go back and watch some of the older ones like the New Super Mario Bros. Wii
and the Rogue Warrior
QL's from time to time.

Finally got an opportunity to watch the RE4 Quick Look, and you people* are fucking insane. Even ignoring that 75% of the time was racing to get to the lake fight, he still did just fine.

Same. I mean I don't mind them playing it but I want them to move on. If they are scared by this still then I'm feeling they will ER Amnesia.

I'm watching the new season of The Amazing Race and really, based on the quick intro to the teams, Will and Norm should have had no problem getting on the show. Maybe they really should have pretended to be a gay couple. :p

Sure hope not. Although, the last avatar would, at least, be apt.

It was facetious but still there's a lot more ban worthy stuff going around. Keyser was just unlucky enough to catch duckroll at a bad moment. For that alone, I hope it's not a perma.

Anyways. Supremacy looks.... weird. I think Jeff nailed it with his 'looks like a ps1 era fighter' comment.

It's the closest I've seen to the Dreamcast UFC title, so that's a thing, I guess.

you shouldn't upset duckroll in there. lol. he's been waiting and even the extra content for pc version is crap it's hurting him so bad.
