Quick look was fucking great as far as im concerned. They just didnt showed a lot of the meat of the gameplay. Just a couple shooting sections and on Normal.

No map is a weird weird omission, but having an upgradeable vehicle is cool. Hope they patch a map in.

To be fair you do have a minimap outside and whatnot. Town hubs and shooting levels seem to be pretty streamlined/hard to get lost in

There's been so much negative buzz surrounding this game. I clicked play with my rank prejudices already worrying their chains, that confident gleam in their eyes, alive to the promise that they'd soon constitute an opinion never expressed without condescension.

But this looks alright.

id making a pretty but dull shooter, who would've imagined. Crazy how uninspired Rage looks given the saga of its development.
With you on this.

Also, I find Brad's gushing over how good it looks a little odd, considering if you turn around at all it looks like crap. This game has Steam sale written all over it. Especially since the PC version needs a few patches.

Honestly found the QL a little boring to watch. Guess I'll have to pick it up early next year as there are better/more interesting games coming out this year.

I don't know if you can accurately make that decision from the quick look. I've learned from experience that watching videos of someone else playing a shooter is not nearly as fun as playing it yourself. Hell, even the Gears of War 3 quick look I found to be incredibly boring, and I ended up really liking the game.

I think with Rage in particular, playing the game and experiencing the world and setting, feeling the tension during combat. That's part of the enjoyment of a game like Rage, you can't make a determination by watching Brad look at the nice visuals, and playing some shooting parts on Normal difficulty.

If anything, the quick look got me a lot more interested in Rage than I was initially. It wasn't even on my list of fall games I wanted to buy, but now I'm sitting here trying to come up with a means to get it.

how come sometimes I get a big centered video on giantbomb and sometimes I get the smaller one? If I can manually choose somehow I'd prefer to keep the window the small, old one as the big centered videos tend to be more noticeable with frame skipping (most likely a problem on my end).

You get the smaller one if you watch it straight from the main page, since the embiggen button isn't on there for whatever reason. If you go to the videos section you get the regular centred versioned with embiggen button.

I thought the QL with Rage was pretty good, I am getting it anyway because of a previous preorder sale but It should be a very good game from the looks of it.

I thought embiggen was a subscriber-only feature. anyway, cheers rossy, small videos all day erry day.

Wow, from what I've read RAGE looking amazing in consoles came at the expense of the PC version, or at least held it back a bit. I'm still impressed by what was shown here, the level of detail to the towns and environments and especially the animation quality to the NPC's. Carmack never fails to impress.

Awaiting NBA Jam On Fire TNT scrub league!

I already have the game on disc but noone played it, I loved the gameplay. Maybe this will find a greater audience.

I don't know if I want RAGE or not after watching the QL.

Anyway, I need more quick looks.

I think I want RAGE, but the texture pop is apparently worse on AMD/ATi stuff and that's exactly what I have.

I'm getting really sick of what a piece of junk this Radeon is turning out to be. First Radeon I've ever owned, too. Going back to nVidia at the soonest possible convenience.

The issue I have with Rage is that is sounds and looks like it's made of half-measures.
It's open world, but not really
It's got a half don quest system. I really open my eyes when they said it might auto complete quests you haven't accepted yet, making you miss areas.
It's got crafting, but it sounded way under-done.
It has side quests, but they don't really get you anything.

I got interested based on 60fps but I don't think that's going to be enough. It looks nice great but it's holding really holding up to recent shooters in other aspects IMO. It looks fun, but not day-one fun.
