I watched the first 3 minutes and turned it off. It was about the part where Brad said it looks bad-ass, I agreed, went 'WTF ARE YOU DOING' and then I bailed out.

Something is way different about their encoding, you can see so much more artifacting when the QL intro plays. It's like they either switched codecs or really cranked up the compression (or lowered the bitrate) on the existing one. I wonder if the producers have been instructed to do this in order to conserve bandwidth costs.

I haven't watched the video yet but I have finished the game and the thugs definitely talk about story stuff post game. So if Jeff really is playing the completed save watch out peoples for spoilers.

Same, thought it would just be combat or early game stuff, which I suppose it is without that subtitle.

If its about one of the main villains, then it's not really a spoiler.

Not being spoiled about a major plot twist, since QLs usually don't do that without some kind of warning.

without knowing anything about the game; it seems like a late game reveal that NG+ enemies are being self-aware about. dunno though, it's not the spoiler that was doing the rounds earlier as part of PR that everyone flipped about.

Yeah seems a bit dumb they are not having a warning of some kind. It's still better not to watch anything if you want to be unaware about most stuff.

Great, another quicklook I wont be able to watch for MONTHS..

Just like how I had to skip the Portal 2 DLC TNT. I can watch it now, but meh...

on the podcast, 2 weeks ago, they said that people shouldn't care about the Batman spoiler that was posted on that Batman Story that had a spoiler in it, which was never posted in giantbomb. Giantbomb doesn't really care about spoilers, overall. Just have that in mind.

I removed the headphones from my head in a hurry more than once when listening to their podcasts.

I don't think they noticed, to be honest. It's a single subtitle a few minutes in that you can barely hear the accompanying dialogue for.


At least it's way better than the only other time they spoiled something big (the L4D2 DLC, where they not only talked about a spoiler in the video because they got confused about two different cutscenes, but also put it on the video's front page description right in your face). I had already played it, but maaaan I would have been pissed.
 
oh wow just saw the spoiler, um yeah, they need to blur or black that out lol. Can't really blame the Giant Bomb crew that the guards in this game are talkative though. Hopefully they see the posts and comments so they can fix it.

Also some of the loading screens in this game show a "what happened last time" sort of thing, so i don't know if those are spoiler dangerous too.
 
I completely missed the subtitles and what was said. Guess because it wasn't pointed out to me I was just ignoring the random stuff the thugs were saying. If I went to watch the QL now though I'd probably hear/read it when trying to avoid it lol.
 
Man, what's going on with Giant Bomb's video encoding? Watching the Guardian Heroes QL and it looks terrible in HD, even in static scenes with not much movement.

Looks much worse then normal in SD as well, if this was a test I want them to go back to the old codecs.

I usually hate the crying over spoilers because usually it is in the intro so it's not an actual spoiler, or it's 6-12 months later so it's not like the cry babies cared about the game.

That said if it was bad enough to edit out it must be bad.
 
Dunno if my shitty computer can even handle that fancy video. Just gave them money to show my appreciation.
