I almost never look at their site, but listen to their podcast every week. Also like it when they drag Will on for TNT or Quicklooks. Enjoyed the TF2 TNT where they had Will and Gary there playing.PounchEnvy said:I honestly find myself looking forward to Tested's podcast more than Giant Bomb's in recent times.

Didn't the other thread grow out of the quest system or something? I recall it getting in the way of the other stuff in this thread. I don't really see a reason to keep them separate now though.hamchan said:Wouldn't it be awesome if we had one catch all thread for their Quick Looks and their non-Quick Look videos! It's the same people reading both separate threads now anyways!
That's actually not at all what you posted.sk3 said:Giant Bomb is not worth $50 to me. What is difficult to understand about that?

Keyser Soze said:Yes, I agree 100% here. I noticed Screened's one has gotten better in the past two weeks too.
Pretty much all Tested video's are interesting too - especially the longfrom Quick Look at new products and OS'. The recent "Rambling Rorie" thing on Screened is good too, although that could easily be an audio podcast - if they are looking to save a bit on cost
If people were complaining about subscribing this time last year, then I could see where they are coming from as there really was a lack of conetent. However, now I cannot see why people complain (other than not having the funds to do so). As a subscriber you get:
A video of the Tested podcast (PS, which is amazing)
TNT archive
The Jeff Jar thing
The Rorie (ripoff of Jar) thing
Vinny's Random PC Game
Vinny's Last Save thing
Other random Vinny videos
Brad's new thing
Over all the sites, there has been probably 20 hours of premium content this month alone, which is rather good
I'm just glad the new premium stuff is getting back to more of their old style of videos. There was a huge rut where it seemed like all they were doing was podcast, quicklooks, TNT, Happy Hour, and the latter two really took a nosedive in quality pretty soon.Vire said:My favorite Giant Bomb premium piece of content was the SNES marathon.
I really wish they would do more stuff like that. Just have a tub of old games to play through.
My favorite premium content is still the random pc stuff. Dave and Vinny have love for old PC games, Dave has a great level of knowledge, and Vinny is always hilarious.Vire said:My favorite Giant Bomb premium piece of content was the SNES marathon.

I actually told the guy who edits/hosts it to ask Dave to see if they would be willing to host it since he pays 5 bucks a month for the hosting, but I don't think he wants to bother them or some such.hamchan said:They should just make your podcast the official site podcast.

I like it sometimes but some of the games are just plain tedious and painful to watch.thetrin said:My favorite premium content is still the random pc stuff. Dave and Vinny have love for old PC games, Dave has a great level of knowledge, and Vinny is always hilarious.

GB is great, Tested is ok, the rest might as well be nuked. $50 for both GB / Tested and $30 for just one would be my personal sweet spot.

Youtube is free to everyone. You can upload as much crap as you want as long as it fits inside the file limit. If people pull down enough views on a consistent basis they become Youtube Partners. This is Youtube's effort to host original content, the Partner Program essentially earns the channel revenue and provides them with extra features, tools, and longer/bigger video uploads. There's nothing stopping Giant Bomb from uploading higher quality videos to Youtube, and it would cost them nothing, however they seem to think it might undervalue the subscriber option, so I would guess that's why we aren't seeing it right now.Keyser Soze said:Actually, go on. I have no idea about that. I have never uploaded anything to the site, but I presumed you could upload for free - although having a custom channel was pay.
How did I not know about this? You should post more about your podcast in the anime thread.firehawk12 said:http://www.animevice.com/forums/general-discussion/1/alphavictor-20-bound-by-contractual-obligation/328989/
The new one came up, but I don't think the host posted it yet. I'd like to think we're less shit now than when we first started a little under a year ago anyway, but it's an anime podcast after all.

I'd love to see them play ANY of the "quest" games. In fact, Space Quest IV would be a great pick. So would KQV for sure.DMczaf said:After that SWAT video, I need to watch them playing King's Quest 5.

Yep. You can see how the views break down referral wise if you hit the button next to the viewcount.HTuran said:Does YouTube count embedded views?

The first ones were pretty terrible, as they almost always are.
To be fair though, it was promoted on the front page of Anime Vice at one point. That said, I'm not sure who is reading AV nowadays beyond the small hardcore community. If the URL wasn't still getting a lot of hits, I'd say they should just merge AV and Screened into one site.
I'd rather have either a cooking or travel site.Ozone said:I continue to promote replacing Anime Vice and making the purple Whiskey site dedicated to music.
