And that is why GAF is seldom ever brought up and their own forums don't exist.

Seems like GAF in general is quite mean spirited, both gaming and off topic sides.

I know you think they mention GAF more than they do their own forums, but realize that whenever they talk about the 'community', it's about their forums. And almost every whiskey meme (with a few exceptions, like maybe Will o-face) has come out of there.

Yep, thats why you should find a community you enjoy (for me its the fighting game community) on the site and avoid everything else like the plague, this place is so depressing sometimes.

Really looking forward to the Trains vs Zombies quick look.

I'm not complaining, but why did Whiskey Media change all their videos to YouTube? Cost savings? More exposure? All the above? It's just weird since they invested so heavily in their own video tech.

Less cost to them and ad revenue I believe.
 
The 360p thing for YouTube is so weird. The 360p for videos always seemed like just a thing they'd do as they started up and didn't have much bandwidth and do away with as they expanded, because it was their own player. Their adding HD for subscriptions seemed to confirm that.

Uploading higher res videos on YT is easy as hell. Is it to retain a reason for people to subscribe? "Well, we can't upload YT videos in a quality that's becoming more and more commonplace for even the most amateur start up video makers, so subscribe and enjoy higher video quality on our own site?"
 
I've always said that the way to attract people to sub is not through different quality video, but more awesome original content. When every place out there (even kids casting from their own PCs) put out HD (or close-to) content I think it works in detriment to the site not to have it for free. I am a freeloader tho, and love those guys, so I guess I have no place to complain when I don't know their costs associated with it.

So, yay! new QL.
 
Why can't I download the HD version of Trains vs Zombies?

I hover over the HD bar, right click, save as etc and I just get HD.htm to save rather than a video file. All of the other qualities have the video file there.

Glitch?

The past week in particular has been a pretty low point for NeoGAF.

Hard to take him seriously. His sense of humor (and delivery) is so dry that I can't tell when he's telling the truth.
 
TvZ is hilarious, but did anyone else get flashes of bad compression in the HD version? It's not the first time I've seen it in their videos.

I downloaded the mp4 and I'm still seeing it. Here's direct links to a group of three frames with no camera movement around 25:53.
