Then watch it a few days later? It's basically a 10th of an ER available whenever you're comfortable enough to check out.

it makes no sense to you, maybe :)

It obviously will appeal to other people for different reasons. But I understand that people don't want to be spoiled.

for my sake, I'll be skipping the beginning since I like that first, linear experience to be fresh (plus I'll be at work) but once the stream is out there in the wild, in random dungeons and environments, I'll be checking in to see how things are going. I know that my experience will be different enough in this game that I won't mind seeing someone else play through parts of it.
 
I really think they should skip the intro, just start recording after it. Without context I'm sure I could watch 12 hours of the game, but if I saw the intro I'd be kicking myself.

When they were at gamespot still Greg reviewed Oblivion and streamed the first 12 hours of it there. So it makes a lot of sense in that context.

Is the intro really something to be savoring? I remember the Oblivion intro was crawling through a shitty dungeon until you finally got outside, then ran to the big castle.

I had no idea who he was until they brought him in for Building the Bastion. Hell, out of the five guys Giant Bomb guys, I'd only heard about Jeff before I started visiting the site last year.

That said, Greg gets so many points for being one of the people behind Bastion. I might jump into the Skyrim session randomly once it gets going, but I won't spoil the beginning for myself.

Greg was EIC of Gamespot and the GB crew's boss. I remember he was one of the first guys to do video reviews for games on GS during the site revamp before GT and IGN. It was innovative for me and his Oblivion marathon was something i've never seen before. Live and raw. So good.
 
I am out of Whiskey Media content to watch for first time in EVER. I event went to Comic Vine, to watch Sara read the news - and I don't think that feature is still going. I see no videos on the upcoming GB listing :/

Do what I did: sift through very beginning of the Features category and watch all the old mailbags.

Some good shit came in the mail back then!

I'm definitely watching the 12 hour stream after it gets archived i don't give a fuck, i bet it's gonna be great since all the crew will there. Also the chances of me owning a Xbox 360 sometime soon is low so whatever.

I remember going there to see the weekly news video - as I have no knowledge of comics, and that was a good round-up. I have not went in ages, and the segment seems done now. It was good for a while - and this one had a super ending (

For long videos I usually split em up. I'll watch 20 minutes then finish it up later. Sometimes I have to split up the member only videos Into a lot more though since they are fuxking long.

Great, that's the third personality to announce a Skyrim streamathon. First Trump (popular SC2 streamer) with his community-chosen 2-day Let's Play marathon, then Day[9] (popular SC2 caster) with an 8 hour stream, all on release day.

No intention of letting any of these guys spoil the first hours of the game for me, but yeah, there's obviously a lot of demand for that out there.

Never heard of those guys, I'll stick with Greg. Besides, Greg did Oblivion marathon which I think was a reason I think they're doing this. Like old times.
 
MW3 QL is up for people that... might be interested. I'll watch it because I love how Jeff plays SP shooter campaigns. Just charge forward, breaking the AI.


btw: people that watched the Oblivion thing. Does Greg talk much during the stream?

Been years but iirc, you mainly hear his reactions. He didn't talk too much.
 
I'd watch 12 hours of Skyrim if the Giant Bomb guys were going to talk over it, but Greg Kasavin alone? From what I've seen in all their Bastion stuff and that one TNT he was on that guy just has the most unbearable monotone, and that was him talking animatedly to friends. If it's just going to be him commenting on a game to himself I don't think I could stand it.

EDIT: It seems this is only a temporary problem. Someone in the comments mentioned it takes time for YouTube to make higher resolutions available. Can anyone speak to that?
 
Woooow, say whatever you want about the 360p stuff, but 240p is literally unwatchable by any decent standard. Jeez.
 
I don't know what they're thinking about not 1080p'ing their vid content on YouTube. Subscriber content should be your main draw guys! Especially when you've just nerfed your standard vid content!

They've acknowledged the archives before, same with the Tested guys pointing people towards their video archives for oktoberkast. I imagine they see it as having little to no impact on the rest of the goings on.
