The Gran Turisimo 7 Opening

But it's the best fucking intro bro, totally worth it

Whoever came up with the idea of an unskippable 8 minute intro (first time round) needs to be put in a canon and fired into space.
You can skip it or set it to never come up again after the first time.

A glorious opening it is, for car enthusiasts.

There were better intros in the series, this one came pretty pretentious even for Yamauchi standards IMO

The last three minutes are acceptable.

The first five are like some crappy daytime Cheers ripoff featuring Amish people driving penny farthings.

Classy glorious intro with a recap of automobile history that you watch once and never again: no good.

AAA third person adventure with unskippable cutscenes every 10 minutes: chef's kiss.

The amount of moaning in this forum is off the charts lately.

I don't like the AAA cut scenes either.

The moaning is justified. I am frankly OUTRAGED and will be writing to various organisations to express my disgust.

Great game though. Saving up for a Honda NSX.

If you're not into the history of the automobile, then I can understand how the intro could be deemed as an annoyance.
But then, if that's the case, why the hell would you buy the game?

This reminded of a time when a friend came round mine and we put Gran Turismo sport on. He said he loved the game but hated that you couldn't skip the intro! I was like you can skip it but it's the circle button. His face was like whhaaaaaattttt 🤣😂. His girlfriend said everytime he put the game on he went to make a drink while the intro played. Classic 🤣

I liked it, you can skip it after you watch it once - you really busy? you prob take longer shits lol

You think I wouldn't jump at the chance to skip sitting on a cold porcelain chair designed to amplify every noise my ass makes while yesterday's food comes out of me and causes the paint on the walls to peel?

Go make a cup of tea

Or have a wank - then make a cup of tea. Might have wasted 4 minutes depends how slow your kettle boils.

A lot of games have unskippable cut scenes the first time playing. Among the worst example of game studio ego, since they know most people if given the option would just mash a button to get to the menu screen asap.

Ok, we get it devs. We just had to sit through your canned intros to make your cut scene makers feel better. On the plus side, they always let you skip past it the second time.

smh where the car and AUTO MOBILLLLLE lovers in this place? the machine dreamers - the gas guzzlas - the racing drivers - the gasheads - the granturismo players

What if OP doesn't care about art and want to...

You know... Play a game?
Then he waits. Boo hoo. So sad.

This is a nothing burger.

Guess what, all this fake drama... it's been done already, and one never has to see it again. Everything else in and out of modes loads in a mere second.

Should have done 8 minutes of research before buying, clearly.
Well, he got an 8 minute reminder here about checking it out next time he wants to buy a game.

More serious though, it's pretty lame to make unskipable cutscenes.
But it makes sense than some people praise it in here.

I think there's a difference between an intro you see only once and something like Ragnarok that you play with very long cutscenes you can't skip. It makes replaying the game a no go. It's unbearable.

A lot of games had intros back in the day and we were all fine with them. You'll never see anything like it again during GT7. It's 1 sec loadings after that.

unskipable cutscene of any type should be frowned on. Hell I remember a few games with forced slow walk scenes that o turned off and did play for a long time.

Doesn't matter about load times. Skip the video should be allowed by default.

Isn't story what Sony studios often focus mostly on? That's the impression I get.

And then it makes sense you can't skip the crucial parts in a game.
For replay purposes... I really doubt there are that many people replaying their games besides on this forum.

It did set a tone alright .

But it was pretentious as hell.

It's clear this guy isn't a big fan of being associated with the idea of GT being a video game. GT3 is about 3X more fun than 7. They're both great at something... But I'd prefer that something to be fun.

You're so invested into a platform and games you don't play.

GT7 is the best racing model they've ever done. The QoL, etc are fantastic, and the actual racing is top notch fun.

Nah... GT3 is the worst of the series, so few cars and less to do. I will say the thing GT7 did wrong was giving out so many cars like candy.
