I saw the older version of the film quite recently. It really felt timeless. I'm not really sure what a remake could add, much like I don't think to kill a mocking bird needs a remake. That being said, I'll probably check it out anyway.
3D could work as long as it adds physical depth etc and doesnt rely on gimicks.

There's a lot of rumors coming from the post-production houses here that a lot of post-converting is going to be required on the film. Apparently Baz often told the stereographers to fuck off quite a few times on set and spent quite a lot of the time shooting in 2D.
