No auto update here... my guess it was to extend the expiration date for the friends and family build from the 6th to the 10th.

I hope so, I love convenant architecture, the Halo ring greens and snowEric WK said:Halo 3 is most certainly not entirely set on Earth.

Well, there should be some forerunner architecture on earth (the Ark). Either way, I don't really care where most of the game takes place as long as the environments are varied enough. Earth, of course, has many different kinds of environments and they could have us moving from different continents, etc. We may go somewhere else on earth before going to the Ark for all we know, so making most of the game take place either on or around earth would work just fine, and I'd actually prefer there to be a larger focus on earth this time.Tieno said:I hope so, I love convenant architecture, the Halo ring greens and snow
I'd be kind of dissapointed if the majority would take place on earth. Unless of course they have some cool alien looking environments.
I didn't think it was that bad, but if another Halo ring just so happens to pop up in Halo 3 I will throw a brick through my TV (ok, maybe not...). This is one of the reasons I like Halo: CE's story so much more than Halo 2's, it isn't nearly as ridiculous and is much more focused.goldenpp72 said:I really hope halo 3 works better then 2 did when it comes to switching around locales.. did anyone else laugh at how the halo was found in halo 2? I doubt the achievements will be identical to the ones currently in the beta code. They will (and should) change some stuff. But I still believe the single-player achievement stuff is pretty accurate. At least in terms of locations and progression through the campaign.

He pops in here from time to time. He runs H3DA until June 10. Then it is being turned over to 3 current Ascendant Justice community members.ToyMachine228 said:RE: Mr. Vociferous

There's actually a very good, and pretty cool, explanation for that "stumbling" upon Halo:CE's halo in Fall of Reach.NJ x Falkor said:I did not laugh
It was pretty clever, In Amber Clad followed the Covie ship to find Installation 05.
It was better than Halo CE's just "stumbling" upon a ring

"In accordance with the Cole Protocol, the Autumn makes a blind slipspace jump, and emerges in the vicinity of an unexplored and remarkable world."
Is that what you are referring to ?

BTW - one of the newspaper articles a few pages back quotes Bungie as saying, "Halo 3 begins on Earth, but it doesn't stay there" (paraphrasing).Eric WK said:Halo 3 is most certainly not entirely set on Earth.

Would that be a brilliant idear?

Yesterday on Valhalla I saw a complete idiot drive the mongoose up to the mancannon, get out to grab a brute spiker (and trip mine) then drop the trip mine on his mongoose, I suppose by accident. He then drove the mongoose off the mancannon, it exploded in midair, and he started screaming "SOMEONE HAS THE ROCKETS NEAR OUR BASE!"NJ x Falkor said:

I know. I generally try to avoid it when a person does that, but its annoying when you see other people (or myself) fighting it out and they get pushed down there just to get killed by some guy crouching behind the corner waiting for some easy kills. Sneaking and spike grenades sometimes work, but usually because the map is so fast paced a battle usually happens right before you causing you to bail out and reveal your position.Sneak, spike or plasma grenades, and power drainer would be my recommendation. Take that with a grain of salt though, as I'm not that great a player.

OldMattacus said:That's when you press the Down button and inform all the players in the match that there is a camper in X location, and gameplay will tend to drift from there until either the camper gets board and comes out into the open or he hides in the cave for the rest of the game.
