Since the beta is looking pretty soild, I'm wondering how the single player is going? I'm hoping it looks similar to last year E3 video.
 
As ****ing amazing and cool it is to see the spartan to float with the water and everything but it kind of doesn't make sense. Now if it was a regular human without hundreds of pounds of armor that would make sense but with an armor suit on, they still float? W/e lol, still awesome.

keep your eye on the Spartan at the end of the gif, it sinks to the bottom.

Halo 3 is my most anticipated game of all time, this game looks so sweet I cannot wait.

really? what defines cheating?

i'd prefer a game exploit that EVERYONE can use over a CHEAT like standby or modding that only those with the available options can use.

i dont understand why people think pressing a button combination is cheating. you press BXR or BXB. its an exploit created by Bungie and they obviously didnt think much of it considering they didnt patch it in Halo 2.

Obviously you don't know anything about software engineering or you wouldn't make such broad, ignorant statements.

Simply, you like it, so it's not cheating. Most of us like to play the game as it was intended to be played. Jackasses like you like to find exploits to gain any advantage you can. Jackasses like you will be disprefered by so many players that you'll only be able to play with cheaters and then all will be good.

That's some absurd logic you have there... "external, not everyone can do it." Both modding and BXR are the same thing - a bug in the game allows you do things that are not supposed to happen in the context of the game's normal rules.

Again - our rule is simple: glitch exploiting is cheating. Modding is glitch exploiting. Superjumping is glitch explotiing. Animation interrupting is glitch exploiting. Etc.

You seem be trying to place some kind of relative ranking to how "serious" an exploit is, and that determines if it is cheating. If that is the case, then the only people who get to decide such a "ranking" are the people who run the sandbox you're playing in (us if your on Live, MLG if you're at a tournment of theirs, or you if you're on your own LAN). In that case, I'm right, and animation glitches like BXR are an exploit and are cheating.

Here's the fun part - if we're not going by "ranking the exploit" and instead apply a standard policy, I'm STILL right and BXRs and such are cheating, because we TOLD you this policy when you got an Xbox Live account (read the terms of use).

Now, I'm really sorry this seems sudden to you, but as you've already indicated... you don't play in our sandbox (Matchmaking), so it really doesn't matter that you don't like what we think about those glitches. In the hypothetical, though, you're going to need a better argument than the ones you've been presenting so far.

my point was that i didnt go around BXRing feeling the same satisifaction i would have had i stanbyed someone. i never considering BXR a cheat and never will. bungie can call it a glitch if they want, but since i only play hardcore matchmaking where everyone does it, or mlg customs, then i dont see how i am gaining an advantage over another.
 
I like all the sounds during all the weapons :lol

My favorite sound is by far the missile launcher thing...especially when it's coming right at you. The laser also sounds powerful.

I'm with you on the sounds. All of them sound great, even coming from my assed-out Dell speakers on my computer. I would probably drop a load if I was able to hear them in 5.1 Maybe I can upgrade by the fall for a full entertainment experience with this game and all entertainment mediums. :::crosses fingers in hope:::

Some people don't consider modding cheating. However, if Bungie says it's cheating, then it is, on matchmaking. The sandbox argument is pretty logical if you ask me.
 
I am pretty surprised at all the Halo 2 interest that's been generated. I see so many people online playing multiplayer again.

Downloaded the beta in 10-15 minutes, incredibly fast.
Haven't encountered lag last night, was very smooth gameplay.
 
Every time I pull up my friends list and see so many of them playing the beta it just makes the wait until Wednesday harder. :(

I know. Half of my friends list is on Halo 2, the others are on Crackdown. Except for GhaleonEB of course.
 
can someone tell me how the Y button friends list function works?

do we press Y and it brings up guide button, or do we press Y and get a custom bungie friends list?

Seriously though, can someone tell me how gaffers are playing this already? I went to bungie.net and the timer is still ticking. I seriously don't have time to read through 40+ pages.

I'm sorry. Seriously. But it's people like you who ruined Halo 2 online, and we're all a little defensive about it. To see you defending this for pages on end and then promising to do it again is just too much. I don't know why people like you don't get the same enjoyment by just playing the game according to the rules.
