I didn't read anyone saying anything about the auto-aim. Is it the same as Halo 2's or different?
It's not as bad as it was in Halo 2, according to op_ivy. Makes me happy.striKeVillain! said:I didn't read anyone saying anything about the auto-aim. Is it the same as Halo 2's or different?

And the auto-aim is supposedly less than Halo 2 but more than Halo 1, and using weapons like the battle rifle is supposed to be much more challenging now.
It is severely reduced. Very noticeable with the sniper rifle, AR and BR especially. Also, mêlée lunges are substantially shorter. Both are good things.striKeVillain! said:I didn't read anyone saying anything about the auto-aim. Is it the same as Halo 2's or different?
ice cream said:So when's the Gamehead episode out on the web?
got2bekidding said:The Game Head episode was extremely watered down when compared to all of the vids, pics, and info given in this thread. The only thing mentioned on it that could be considered "new" (but still possibly confirmed by Stinkles somewhere on Gaf), was that there is atleast 1 new playable vehicle on MP yet to be seen. To answer your question though, I believe they said it would be up on the site later today.
The graphics are seriously impressive.Karma Kramer said:Wow the graphics look amazing!
The rocket launcher effects are through the roof with awesomeness.
I am sooo jealous for those who are playing.

Apparently not. Not in the beta, anyways.GavinGT said:I'm sure this has been answered, but is there still a rocket lock-on on vehicles when you zoom in?
EvaPlusMinus said:Wow, I had an invite to the beta too from Bungie.net
Note to self: Pay MUCH more attention to Bungie's website from here on.
I have to admit I have checked my account twice, and I'm not sure I've even ever posted on their forumsgot2bekidding said:LoL I have checked about 10 times today even though when I do, I know there won't be one.:lolI guess I love being right

They are acceptable as they are, but there is room for improvement imho.jordan0386 said:SO...are the graphics satisfactory, or should there still be improvements made before November

Stinkles said:Woot. Lots o gaffers on tonight. How were dowload speeds and laaaaag?
squicken said:In general, lag was fine. Oddly, the only games I've been part of where anyone has lagged out of a game has been involved with Bungie. Probably standbying.
SteveO409 said:Man I would kill to play in the Halo 3 beta. I had about 4500 games logged on Halo 2 before they wiped it. It made high school go by so fast thanks to that game. Guess I have to wait until Fall to mess around with it since I don't want to bother with buying Crackdown. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Halo fan but not that hardcore to spend 50+ bucks![]()

Who is your team? (i mean, are you from a particular website?)Exarchos said:
GhaleonEB said:I almost forgot a great moment -
On one of my last games, Assault on Valhalla, the other team planted the bomb in our base. The defense cleared them out and I and two others ran in to defuse the bomb.
*BOOM*
squicken had planted a proximity mine right on the bomb. It blew our whole damn team up. Needless to say, we lost. :lol
It was a great example of how the new Equipment adds subtle but fun layers of strategy to the game.
Ooh, I wanna try the video sharing download thingamabob. I have sent a friend requestsquicken said:That is so far the highlight of my brief Halo 3 experience. Pure dumb luck, but I've file shared it for all the world to see
*cough* Too bad there's no fast forward *cough*

Yeah, that's pretty good though I guess I'm more enthusiastic about the game. They forgot the shield doors.Wollan said:Eurogamer seems to have a pretty good summary of all the elements up:
