Highground has a lot of cool places for firefights, I like the verticallity and taking ground from a lower point.


I've been killed plenty times by the AR, from a distance it's quite effective.

Only just realised the missile pod can home in.

The warthogs are more stable and they land more on their wheel when they go tumbling, like a cat!

The AR is excellent. I keep it on hand most of the time as a backup.

Stinkles, will 12-16 player games be added for Valhalla when the population explodes? I LOVE that map, but it's pretty big for 4 vs 4.

On that note (good question), is this the average map size or will there be more...intimate maps?
 
Quick question: When switching weapons, is there actually an animation for their "holster" switch? Or do they just pop in and out of the player's hands?

Sorry if this has been asked before.

On that note: if you are not on the epic list of tags on the first page, but posted your tag, please do so again. I'll update the list this afternoon from Melhisedek's tag on, but I fell too far behind to dig through the 1,700 posts that occured since I last scoured. Spent too much time playing Halo 3 to keep up to date with this thread. :lol

i have a feeling theres tons and tons of people who got the F&F invites and only played for a bit and then said "eh its just halo".

mother F'ers, i'm over here experiencing withdrawal from Halo 2 and their F&F invites are not in good use.

It's my second GT. But trust me--we played too much the past two semesters in college. (dropped my gpa by a while point)

i got kicked out of the architecture program at my school because i spent more time playing halo than in studio. in fact, it was like a 5:1 ratio of time spent playing halo than doing work.

my gpa was like a 2.1 my first year of school.

you hear that bungie, thats dedication. 2004 and 2005 were bad years for MaX PL when it came to school. hopefully i dont make the same mistake this coming year.
 
Looking at some of these weapons, I'm getting a strong Lost Planet vibe. Do the large weapons handle like Lost Planets? Because that sucked.

There is no chance in hell that this will work. Stinkles, everyday I show the kids in my business class videos of Halo 3. Leaked or not, I spread the Halo gospel! I am so excited for this game, MAKE MY HALO DREAMS COME TRUE PLEASE!
 
Wow, just got off the Beta, and I can't remember the last time I've enjoyed a game so much. Don't know what I could say that hasn't already been said; H3 looks great, runs even better and plays every bit as good as you could imagine and then some. You guys are in for a fvcking treat next week.

The MA5C was probably the most important gun for Bungie to get right, and did they ever. At mid-range, it's perfect; I think it's given me more kills than any other weapon, even my usual go-to BR.

The maps are uniformly and uniquely awesome, with Valhalla being my current fav. Don't let the size fool you: thanks to the man cannons and plentiful vehicles, it's never wanting for action. My last game on Valhalla was a VIP match against some of the PMS girls and there was never a dull moment.

I'm taking a breather for now, but I'll be back on later this evening. Oh, and Ghaleon, I resent that FR. :)

ok wow, stinkles i tried, but this guy shows videos to his class; thats dedication +1.
 
Wolffenm, why would you set your xbox to 1080i when and have your tv do the converting to 1080p? You do realize that you are getting a worse picture, it means you have 2 scalers operating instead of one. Just set the 360 to 720p or 1080p and then there is only one scaler in action.

I am not a teacher. I am a student. But before class everyone gathers around my computer, and I show them the latest Halo 3 videos.

Most tv's that won't be the case. Why not set your xbox to 1080p? Again, right now you are using 2 scalers, the xbox to internally from 720p to 1080i, then you tv is scalling from 1080i to 1080p. More scalers = more guesswork by the electronics and ussually a worse end result.

If you can filter through all of the MLG "competitive" banter and propaganda, there's not really much there. The carbine is better than the BR, there's less magnetism, the graphics are great, the sniper is slower, he misses his holy pistol and doesn't like the AR as a starting weapon.

It doesn't accept 1080p from component. (don't have vga either)
 
Just home from a night out, its probably good that proper beta isnt till weds, i have an exam on tuesday and i wouldnt revise if things appeared beforehand!

I cannot wait. The little amount of time i spent on halo 2 online is nothing compared to single player campaign and how much i enjoyed it.

Bring on Wednesday :D

Well, to be fair, MLG is a competitive gaming league so it makes sense that he would focus on that side of Halo 3's gameplay.

Yeah, the impressions were catered to their playstyle. I just really detest MLG and some of the things like complaining about not having a starting weapon that can kill anything irritated me.
