In cutscenes yes :lol
I expect it to be better than MP in SP, but not the trailer level.

Man, I hope they really really go all out. There's still so much that can be tracked and rewarded. Where are the assist spree medals? The Flying Vehicle kills? Killing a guy with a weapon he dropped? Man cannon kills? Killing someone after they've killed you 5+ times first?GhaleonEB said:BTW, I added a link to the OP of a site collecting all the medals identified in the Beta.

They said that in the trailer documentary.clashfan said:Wow, when did they say that?

And Frankie has said their engine has gotten better since the trailer. Not sure what that will translate to.clashfan said:Wow, when did they say that?

I call it Killzone syndrome.GhaleonEB said:When the trailer debuted, there were multiple epic threads bebating about whether that was even realtime or not. Now Bungie is saying they'll at least hit that mark with dozens of vechicles and characters battling at once, and people are complaining.

That's why i don't understand why the graphics of mp are not better. if they can achieve this in SP with all the bells and whistles and things going on, why not in mp, or at least a little better?GhaleonEB said:When the trailer debuted, there were multiple epic threads bebating about whether that was even realtime or not. 1) I respect your opinion, but I'll respect it a lot more after you've played it. The game is spectacular.michaeld said:That's why i don't understand why the graphics of mp are not better. if they can achieve this in SP with all the bells and whistles and things going on, why not in mp, or at least a little better?
I don't know. But that's what Frankie said. Instead of mindlessly trolling, why don't you read some of the Bungie Weekly Updates and he explains everything in there.michaeld said:What graphical touches are not in the mp beta that will be in the final?
JdFoX187 said:*slaps self*
The graphics in the Beta are spectacular. The character models look like the one in the announcement trailer and I don't know how many times Frankie has said there are still graphical touches that aren't in yet. Good god, wait until you see the final multiplayer videos before clammoring.
It's to test network performance. And like I keep saying, Frankie has said I don't know how many times that there are still things that aren't in the Beta but will be in the final version.FormulaOne said:The reason for the BETA is to test the MP performance, as you know. The graphics are pretty much finalized and I doubt you'll see any drastic jump in visual quality from the BETA MP to to final.

You have people saying the graphics aren't final, but you still say the game isn't that impressive. That's trolling.michaeld said:*sigh* the ad homen troll line...anyone who dares step outside of the accepted opinion is a "troll"!
I think you're getting that rap because this line of discussion isn't particularly constructive - it's pointlessly argumentative on the eve of the Public Beta, when everyone can judge for themselves - and because people have already answered the questions you keep repeating.michaeld said:*sigh* the ad homen troll line...anyone who dares step outside of the accepted opinion is a "troll"!

I dont know what graphical touches they'll add in. I'm not a member of Bungie. But I do know Frankie has said there are things that will be added in. Are you going to believe a random forum poster or somebody who actually works with the company developing the game?michaeld said:You have yet to answer, you say "I don't know" go read updates etc...then others say these visuals are pretty much final, this is a stress test.

I'm not looking for improved graphics, I am simply wondering what has not been added yet that will be in the retail game.Son of Godzilla said:You've yet to explain what you are looking for with regards to improved visuals anyway. Stop baiting people and be constructive.

Frankie (and Bungie) are pretty candid and down to earth (save for their plans of world domination). He writes excitedly but not pr-ish, but I trust him. He was even one of the first game journalists to label Brute Force a Halo killer.michaeld said:Company guys never bs....

Honestly though, after seeing some of the nice HD shots folks have taken of the Halo 3 beta, I just don't see the justification for the level of graphics-related complaints:

Maybe I'm crazy, but those are some mighty sharp visuals.

I don't know if all the rock textures deform, but I shot a concrete wall with the rocket launcher on High Ground last night and it put a huge, broken dent in it. (All of the game looks as good as that shot, BTW.)michaeld said:Are those trees static or are they affected by gunfire etc? How are the textures? Specifically the ground.
Theres a new type of grass in the house. And by house, I mean beach. Because its most definitely some kind of reedy beach grass. It looks amazing. It still looks like Halo stuff I mean, it adheres to our art style, but its so freaking detailed. Best of all, after a period of senseless jumping around, I noticed that the grass was being properly shadowed, with the shadow dipping in and out of the individual blades. Its really hard to describe, but its exactly the kind of crap I get fascinated by. It was even bent in the correct direction for wind and weather on that level, although it does move slightly in the breeze too. Chris Carney was talking about where it should be placed and oriented to more accurately reflect the conditions of that terrain. Looked fine to me. Actually, a lot more than fine.
