The Halo 3 Beta Thread

well that sucks. Ill go to work now, and im going out with a girl after work, then tonight ill come back and it will take me 3 days to download.

Somehow that makes me sad, I have this feeling they're going to kill Master Chief.

Just give me a spartan suited character with a little hologram chick and I'll be happy.
 
I called the death of Master Chief the day I heard it was mapped out as a trilogy

current guess is the Flood overrun earth, the rings are activated and the Ark (containing a small alliance of humans and elites) can only be sealed from the outside: cue Chief.

He dies in the opening seconds of the game and you play Seargent Johnson for the rest of the game.

But then I don't have a twinkie. Or a code. So I guess I'm nowhere near there...

And that reminds me, I don't have a mic / headphones for my 360 :( since my last one broke, I have to get one this week.
 
Jesus, Bungie and their stupid propaganda-tactics made me all excited for the beta, anxiously refreshing my Crackdown downloads menu, and I don't even like Halo. :(
 
Just woke up and the Download Halo 3 option in Crackdown still greyed out :(

But there was an update for Crackdown, anybody knows what the update was ?

It is a fix for an issue with the recently released Crackdown DLC.

thre is a count down on their website you know.. you got another 30 mins.
 
If I put the Crackdown menu on now, will the greyness go if I leave the menu on and the option be highlighted or do I have to refresh the menu constantly?

Fixing the co-op-to-solo save-erasing glitch from the new DLC.

Who knows. Some people are sitting on the list, some back out to the main menu, some exit to the dash and restart Crackdown.

This blows... my system will read crackdown like half the time... DREs out the ass.

I don't get it. It was working fine.. you know, up until I want to download the ****ing beta.
 
I'm guessing that the best tactic is just to open and close the Downloads menu since it takes a few seconds to update the Halo 3 Beta button, seems like it's syncing to see if the Beta is available.
 
Will the new feature for the machine to shutdown after downloading something for the marketplace work if I leave downloading the beta from the Crackdown menu ?

I have to go to work in a little while and I would like to leave the 360 at least downloading the beta without risking my house to be on fire when I comeback :*(

Yeah I guess so, as far as I know the Xbox 360 is only able to download stuff using that download manager. Can't imagine them not using it for the Halo 3 Beta. But don't worry if it's not, my 360 has been on for longer periods of time before and it's not a problem at all.

Blow on it, then try again with your 360 upside down.

If that doesn't work, glare at it until it's intimidated into submission.
