The Halo 3 Beta Thread

This thread used to be so warm and cuddly and awesome.

They are working on it. Bnet will keep you updated as we hear more.

WE KNOW?

You are probably the 20th junior member to repost this?

Please only post new updates.

Actually, he's posted it himself a half dozen times. And been following the thread all morning.

And everyone who already has the beta, please stfu. It's easy not to be upset about this when you've been playing all week on a free invite. People have called off from work, skipped school and invited friends over to play and the bottom lined is they all got ****ed by Bungie.
I'm online if anyone want to play.

Just saw this picture on another forum:lol.

no, the actual Crackdown game costs the same as a full priced game. the Beta is a bonus. please stop.
Don't give me that bullshit. Everyone knows the biggest draw of the game was the Halo 3 beta and that's the ONLY reason it sold a million copies. Without this beta, Crackdown would be nothing more than another sleeper hit.

Bolded where your logic fails. Updating Crackdown means f'ing contacting the developer, asking them to add some custom code to Crackdown (new user interface!), building, testing, and submitting to the XBL team, which has to go through certification and then issuing the title update.

Might as well fix the existing problem using the existing user interface... but still means all of the above process has to be done.

ok, 360 update. If the 360 sees crackdown disc in tray it gives you a message if you want to download halo beta. They dont have to contact crackdown devs.

Honestly, a message with a link to the download area does not sound complicated at all to me.

Thanks for the update.

Good thing you were here to tell us what was said five hours ago.

I'd rather have your previous statement reiterated, then some sort of ETA.

Thanks.

Sorry Stinkles, the old "we're not telling you anything and being mysterious" thing isn't going to work today. We'd appreciate some real info - like "We may need to patch Crackdown and it could take up to a day to fix" or "We think it's a problem that can be fixed on the Xbox Live side of things and it could take up to a day to fix" or... something.

To the people screaming out "THIS IS A BETA", we know this. If it's a BETA then why the **** are other people who didn't pay $60 getting to play it before those that did.

Stop using that BS excuse and just accept the fact that Crackdown owners are getting dicked around.

The least Bungie can do is to TELL US whether they're going to be able to fix it soon. I have a feeling that this is bigger than anyone anticipated (obviously has to be), and they should just come out and say something like "No Beta Today - will try again tomorrow morning."

No point in keeping us all in suspense like this.

I would, but damn, I'm just so burnt out after playing non stop these last few days. It's just too much awesome for one man. :)

working on what? what is the issue, exactly?

I think that's what's pissing people off more than the fact we can't play it yet. There hasn't been any insight to the problem. If they'd bother telling us, it would probably be much easier to wait.

Well that was when people expected to play the game they paid $60 for so don't act surprised when people are pissed off that somebody dropped the ball.

The sense of entitlement in here is :lol. I can't wait to see the thread when the servers go down for tweaking/maintenance or something akin to that.

No one wants to hear from you in any Xbox 360 thread. Ever.

Is the current unofficial word that Crackdown is getting fixed, or that MS is just releasing this beta on Xbox Live?

They haven't said either way, but I would assume Crackdown is getting fixed. That's the more fair solution.

Frankie: "We know something is wrong, but instead of telling you an ETA, here is a picture of Master Chef waiting for the beta! Isn't it fantastic! Bye."

they might not even know what the issue is at this point

they could still be trying to figure out why it's not working like it was on the devnet/partnernet simulations

could it be code related? Xbox Live/Hardware related?

It could be something so ridiculously small.

You mean the sense of entitlement that comes from paying a monthly fee in addition to the sixty dollars for the game+beta?

You can't be serious with this post?

60 bucks says I should be playing the beta, right ****ing now. It isn't as if we're whining we didn't win a contest or something.

So why not make a statement so I can walk away from my computer.

:lol @ this thread.

Relax, the beta will be there tomorrow. Go watch some tv, play some games, forget about the beta for one day. If anything if it is released today, the server won't be so bad tomorrow.
