No, but I imagine there will be a map pack in halo3's career. Which I will promptly wait till they are free.

Additionaly why buy the special collectors edition, ill be the cheapo copy. The point is, I am one of the hardcore fans, that part of what makes the franchise so huge/revered/crazy. And as a hardcore fan, I don't like to be put on ignore. So yeah, I'd be lying to say I'm not going to buy the game.. but there are other avenues of supporting a brand.

My continuing saga to download Aegis Wing... continues. I have turned off my 360 in a feeble attempt to get the system to download the 46MB game faster, however my 360's little power light is still blinking, signaling that the download is still not complete. In addition, my surround sound receiver is happily displaying "Dolby Digital 5.1," taunting me with it's reception of an audio signal. My only thought is, "I want to kill me some aliens." Unfortunately, this cannot be. This cannot be.

I do not hate Crackdown but using it for the Halo beta was a big mistake.

It's not that people hate crackdown now, people either liked the game or they didn't, the issue is the fact that money was spent on it, and by spending money on it, we entered into an agreement with Microsoft regarding when we would get to play the Halo 3 beta.

Crackdown is an okay game that was worth the buy because of the beta.....without the Beta, it's nothing more then a rental.

No, we are on ignore. There hasnt been one ETA statement made. They provide services that I pay for, thats bad business. Furthur proof that customer service is dead. Its unlike Bungie to act this way, its just not common of them, based on past track-records. So I'm inclinded to think its MS' practices.

Are you nuts? This wasn't a mistake at all, it was brilliant. I'm sure that there were many people on the fence about buying this great game, so packaging the beta with it was a sure-fire way to get people to pick the thing up. It worked for me, and I'm damn glad that it did because I really enjoyed Crackdown. Just because the beta isn't working yet doesn't mean that releasing it with Crackdown was a mistake. There are other parties to blame.

My experience this past weekend is that Bungie has NO tech support until you make a big long post in a forum an employee frequents, and MS tech support sucks ass.
