mmm, love the arcade fire :)

the concert was perfect! and I saw win outside the venue 3 hours before it started. Too nervous to say anything though, plus he was talking to about 5 people. It was awesome though

Lots of people did, including me.

Honestly I played ZOE about 20 or 30 minutes.

So you played through the entire game then? :lol

It was a damn good looking game and easy to pick up.

I bought Crackdown for Crackdown, and the serving of H3 beta was just dessert. I hope most of the people who bought Crackdown for the H3 beta ended up enjoying Crackdown, because I want some more sweet DLC, and I want a Crackdown 2 where I can finally beat the living shit out of The Narrator.

You can turn voices off in the menu if you didn't know. I'm thinking Crackdown 2 could even get some Gears of War 2 betaness going on. :lol

I don't agree. A selling point - yes. The main reason to buy the game - no.

I think the fact that there were so few good PS2-games at the time was a selling point enough.

It doesnt matter whether you agree or not, it is fact. MGS2 was insanely hyped after MGS1 basically reshaped gaming. Ushering in cinematic gaming/stealth gameplay.

ZOE was unproven at the time, much like crackdown. If you need furthur proof, why hasn't ZOE 3 been announced yet, when we are on MGS 4?

Tobal - FF 7.... how about that one?

I've got a friend that bought a 360 and Crackdown for the Halo 3 beta (plus a 12-months Live subscription and wireless network apapter).

Me personally, I bought Crackdown for Crackdown. I intended to purchase it before the beta was announced. There is no denying the impact of Halo, though. It's a cultural phenomenon.

Yeah, for sure. Going to go see them here in Portland on the 26th. I'm very, very excited. First time I saw them was in this little venue in Birmingham, England. I was way up front, and it was amazing. Second time was at Coachella, with 50,000 people standing in front of me. I didn't like that so much.

I bought Crackdown because it was the last game I could get for $20 before Rhino's went down (RIP). Great game for $20, I wouldn't have ever bought it at $60.

I used to work at a game store and I can distinctly remember people wanting ZOE for the demo alone. We even had a few people buy the game, open it, take out the demo, and sell it back immediately. Also for a while we paid more for ZOE with the demo since that's what people wanted.

Where's all these facts you're basing what you're saying on?

It's simple for me. A casual gamer won't pay ****ing full price for a demo.

The majority of your customers who bought ZOE did this?

Because the story of Jehuty has been told and finished?

Instead of making a ZOE 3 they should just make a spiritual sequel to it with very similar gameplay.

This is hilarious. I COMPLETELY forgot I even had Crackdown. Just looked inside the box and here's my beta invite. Hahah. Nice. Now, fix this shit MS.

How can you forget that? It's like forgetting you have a penis.

Don't read if you haven't finished the game:

I was really referring to the "twist" ending where you find out the Agency is just killing all the gangs to take over as Crime Lords - but yeah, he does get pretty annoying at times, too.

Really not my type of game. Played for about 20 mins and it's been sitting on the shelf since.

Besides, I like these kinds of surprises.

Halo 3 on the Bravia? Oohohohoh yes.

Could make a good movie. Seriously.

I was just going to rent it and keep it for like a month, but then they released the demo on live. Yeah, I bought it, and I'm keeping it.

I meant the beta key though, Crackdown isn't really my cup of tea either :).

Oh your going to play the casual gamer card..... Your on a forum.... your not a casual!

Additionaly at the time of ZOE on ps2... there werent casual gamers. That category didn't really exist till the DS. The system was only out for about a year and half, and was hard to find for its first year it was on sale. The whole audience was practically hardcores.

I was under the impression you had to buy some special version or during some specific period of time. Now, you'd think I would have seen the little insert but it's facing backwards in the case...so when I took the disc out I ignored it completely.

Plus, I'm quite forgetful.

Why, I don't even know what I'm replying to right now.

Even when it does go up, how long do you expect it'll take to even download?

how would anyone know? it hasn't been released to the masses yet, I just assume that It would take awhile

Dont worry, it makes sense.

This is pretty much common knowledge now. ZOE is one of my favorite series ever, but I didn't touch the game for like 2 weeks because of the MGS2 trailer.

What a crock of shit, the Halo 3 Beta period better be extended by at least a day or two to make up for this blunder.

Would be better if they extended it for a week to save face.

I'm still waiting on Minor Nelson to climb out of his hole and apologize.

Eh, the whole discussion is about whether casual gamers would buy Crackdown for the beta alone?

And may I remind you of consoles such as Game Boy and PS?

Played for a little while longer. Halo 3 is DEFINITELY a step up from Halo 2. I had one pretty cool event on high ground where a player hopped into a mongoose as I was tossing a grenade. It landed directly below him as he stepped on the gas throwing the mongoose into the air and causing it to do half a barrel roll. He was still alive and clinging on at this point, then it exploded and shot him straight into the ground, giving me the kill.

Good times. Halo 3 gets big time thumbs up from me.

Bought it for the MGS2 demo? Absolutely. Tobal No. 1 with the FFVII demo was also mentioned; that was another title where the same thing happened. Particularly with the Japanese release. When we imported it; people paid $70+ just play the demo.

I thought Crackdown would be a mediocre title that would sell just because of the Halo 3 beta, and I'm glad I was wrong. The difference between Crackdown and the other "demo games" is that Crackdown kicks all kinds of ass.
