The Halo 3 Beta Thread

is there any way to get a lifetime total of earned medals? I thought I had seen a big chart of medals with totals logged next to it. if that doesnt exist, I would love to see that bungie staff readers ;) would help immensely with bragging
 
well...now the dicks are coming online; team-killing/kill themselves because they're the VIP and I'm also start to see a lot of quitters.
 
I'm over the Halo 3 beta. The ****ing matchmaking system ****ing sucks. I just want to jump in a game and play and not wait for games. So lame.

Hahaha 'anvil' I love it! Has anyone tried firing a plasma pistol at a ghost? does it disable it? ah screw it i'll just log on right now and try myself lolz

The overcharged shot has to connect, but yes, it can disable a vehicle. I've never so much as picked up a Plasma Pistol, though, so I can't comment on how effective it is. Guess I'll have to find out for myself too sometime.

Yeah that's gonna be badass, I can't wait to try it on a banshee.

It's a lot more fair then a rocket launcher lock-on too. You can disable the banshees engine and drop it right out of the sky and then board it before it starts up again for example.

The party system eases a lot of this pain because you get to chat with a bunch of buddies while waiting for the next game.

Having played Halo 2 online like once or twice, I'm pretty terrible too. Just played a bit for the first time have like a 50/76 kill/death ratio, the matchmaking seems to work though, I got destroyed during one game then played another game of Slayer with different people and won.

I honestly don't think the kills/Death ratio thing should be in Halo 3. I know it's a big bonus for players to go online and see all there kills and deaths and can use it as an ego boost but it makes a lot of the games not fun. Since I have been playing beta, all I see are players standing back, hiding behind there teammates then when someone finally rushes in and gets some shots off they wait for them to die and swoop in to get a double kill. It's honestly becoming pretty sad. People seem to care more about there kill/death ratio then teamwork. They should put in a Clan System into Halo 3. If you aren't in a Clan you can't see your Kill/Death ratio, Or if you are playing alone it doesn't count towards it.

You have an ass load of assists tho, especially for your KD/D ratio, which means you are helping out your team anyway.

I know it has been said many times before but the sound is just amazing. It seems like you are really there when you hear distant gunshots (the sniper rifle sounds the best from afar) and explosions.

My favorite part is when you get killed with the sniper rifle.

I almost want to get sniped just to hear the sound of the bullet piercing your body.

Just got done with a whole shitload of great matches with Sunny, Hitler, Mmars, Spooka, etc. BLIMMAY. WE GOTS TWO MOVIES FOR YOU.

(SAVE FILMS FOR THE WIN OVER ALL OTHER GAMES.)
 
I hope they get plenty of maps into the real game. I'd love to see maps from the original Halo updated and put in at the very start instead of as DLC. It feels like as was said earlier, too many of these maps have so many ways in and out. I understand Haloites are used to that, but as what would be so bad about having 3 or 4 counterstrike-esque maps?
