I think I'm finally catching on and remembering how to play the game again. It's been so long since I've played Halo multiplayer that I've been bad...freakishly bad...during the demo but I just might be turning a corner. Granted I still suck balls but the balls are getting smaller and less hairy. Of course it may be the beer that's making me play (seemingly) better.

What does RP stand for and how do you get the points?
I really hope I get to keep the saves I have and play them on the full game.

Freakin' fun gaf games earlier. I honestly haven't gotten this hardcore into an FPS since CS:Source first came out, shit is so awesome. I completely missed out on any multiplayer from the first halos, so Halo 3 is seemingly going to revert me back to hardcore gaming xbox live halohead. Loving it.
 
I need to figure out how to get videos off my tv onto my computer. I just had a killer snipe coming off the man cannon in Valhalla against some poor bastard on the other side of the map in a corner. It'd make a great gif.

I was *just* thinking the same thing, but I doubt it. I just renamed my favorite shared match "Stick of Glory". I don't want to lose it. :(

As for RP, here's the part of Bungie's Beta FAQ that explains it:

We measure both skill level and experience (in the Beta, this experience is signified by "RP" standing for Rating Points) in our Matchmaking system. Some players are destined to become pros, while others will prefer to haunt the middle ranks and enjoy the game just for fun. But we’ll reward every player with experience Rating Points (RP) - earned for time served in Halo 3 Matchmaking. Progress from raw recruit to decorated officer, a reward for good sportsmanship and yet another way for us to make sure games are evenly matched.

I'd like to have a "Clips" feature in saved films. Say you record a match but only want to share a 10 second clip from it (a killtacular for example). That'd be a lot nicer then sending someone a whole match and telling them to fast forward ten minutes into it or whatever..

It doesn't need any fancy editing features, just press a button to set the first marker point for the clip and it'd then continue playing and you'd just press the button again to set the end marker. Hope that made sense...
 
Got slaughtered by some good teams last couple rounds, but yes, my k/d ratio sucks. :P

man when the lag hits in on this game it's worse than any game i've ever seen before. the game is like a broken record. you can be in mid air and it'll repeat part of the jump sometimes 3-4 times. it honestly moves you backwards, and then forwards, like you're in a time loop.

the network here at my brothers has been showing up in the yellow meter for a lot of games (and matchmaking is taking like 5 minutes sometimes). i've also meleed people from the dead and got the notification like 2-3 seconds after i died, which is atrocious.

You'll enjoy it, even if you didn't like Halo 2. As long as you have a good group. Its even better if you know the guys you're killing too. Can't wait till we get the whole game so we can get epic GAF matches going on. I call Eric WK and Fatal :lol
 
I always wondered what would happen 2 people threw the bubbleshield and energy drainer in the same exact spot, but after just seeing it happen, it want as cool as I hoped.
 
Doing well in this game, relies very heavily on teamwork and more specifically, having teammates who are good.

My Kills/Deaths are slowly improving. :)
Startin' to know where all those good weapons spawn.

Valhalla is still my favorite map (for basically all game types).

The ability to cut, save and send clips is confirmed.

Not too bad seeing as I started playing the beta so late and I haven't played Halo 2 in forever. I am getting better too. I am getting used to the new spike grenades and my sniping skills are improving.

Spartan Laser is fine as is and that is all I have to say about that. I rather see tuning to other weapons such as the Cov. and Human snipers. I still think they fire too quickly (even though their recoil has increased since Halo 2).

The covenant carbine absolutely murders the battle rifle. I think it's a little overpowered. I think the shotgun is totally nerfed, though. I've gotten maybe two kills with it.

If anything I think they should make it take slightly longer to charge. As it is, I'm not a big fan of the whole third person thing, but it doesn't really bug me especially since the heavy weapons are rare.
 
I just got my first EVER ranked win(in any game) in a single player deathmatch.

25 for me, 20 for the second person. I don't even know whats going on. That was the most fun I've had in a videogame in a long time. Wow. When you win this game is so amazing it almost hurts.

Such a different dynamic when you're playing alone though. Kinda miss having gowans or fatal on the ol' team.

yeah, if they made the charge longer or caused your aim to slow down as it got charged, I would like it more. One of the last matches I played had a guy who kept going for it then camped our base and would shoot anyone using the spartan laser or trying to drive away in the ATV

no. its all kinds of pain. play a round with me and i'll show you a thing or two with that sweet little thang ;)

by the way, i caught some halo tunes playing on the radio in the flag room on high gound. nice touch
