Yeah but everyone else is still playing the game. I come back to 30 more points on the scoreboard or more, leaving me little time to catch my team up. It's really annoying.

In all of my rounds tonight we got one 1-flag, one 2-flag, and the rest TS. Last night we got 2 VIP, one neutral bomb, one 1-flag and the rest TS, and these numbers are despite almost universal vetoing of TS.

I guess I'm getting all your "luck". Territories and VIP and One Flag all the freakin time. All I want is a nice game of TS on Val, but nooooo.

Yeah, then that's probably your connection. Might be your router if you have one connected.

It's not. I've got no idea what causes it, but I play almost exclusively split screen and it'll happen sometimes without affecting the other player. Just a black screen after the respawn countdown for a few moments. Never for that long though.

Totally different than the host leaving screen of boredom.
 
Needs more Multi-Flag CTF :(

Anybody else hate the idea of tallying your K/D ratio? There are a lot of gametypes where dying is a very good strategy.

IMO, if your VIP dies before you do, you're failing as a team.

It's true, it's really only useful in slayer. I sacrifice myself often defending the FC or becoming a human shield in bombing runs.
 
Wat it is I finally made it to 35 in Rumble Pit:D !

I really liked playing in the team games with a few people from here. Unfourtunately I didn't see too many people on my list playing the Beta today so I had to go solo and I decided to work on my RP rank.

I H.A.T.E. playing team games with random ass people.
 
Finally got Crackdown for my new 360 and I've started playing the Halo 3 Beta, I'm enjoying it so far. Here's my gamercard:

I heard that Bungie is finished with the game already and preparations are now underway to prepare the cavernous vault they built beneath Mount Rainier to hold the incoming tidal waves of cash.

I really hope the updgrades they are making - new design? - make their sites more functional.

I also hope Big Team Training is tweaked for fewer Slayer matches, more CTF, Assault, VIP and Territories. Heck, VIP is just a tweaked Slayer, but I find it much more entertaining.

Its really weird. I rarely get Valhalla, like 3 times in 30 games. My friend never gets the snow stage unless we're playing together.
 
I remember when Big Team Training first came out, all I got was Territories (or Land Grab w/e it's called) at Valhalla. Now...all I get is Team Slayer at Valhalla. But we have to realize Bungie is changing these playlists around to see what people like.
 
Just got the three red lights, it's dead. This is the 3rd 360 to die on me in less than a year.

Good stuff, excellent timing may I add.

I suck too, but I don't care. It's still fun. I am slowly getting better. Once I figured out that melee attacks to the head were more effective than body shots, it got a little easier. Of course, I'm a charge and punch sort of player, because my aim sucks too much to fight at distance.
 
I still need to work out what weapons are best for what situation, so far holding a plazma pistol and smg doesnt work as well as before and if I do attack with two smg's I end up meleeing at the end and just dropping one anyway.

I've used the plazma rifle like 3 times, it depleats the shield quick but other then that its terrible and I avoid it.

*edit* wow from all the suck I been with since I started the beta my kill death ratio is pretty nice.

I don't think K/D ratios are very important, mainly because my sucks. I have a litany of excuses at the ready.

Turn on your borked 360. Cover with a towel and let simmer for twenty minutes, or until golden brown. Remove the towel, power cycle, and viola!

There are basically 3 ways to get a good kill/death ratio :

1.) You are just sick at the game

2.) You hog the sniper rifle on Valhalla, allowing you to sit back (rarely die) and pick people off while the rest of your team does all the work.

3.) You play with really good teammates.
 
What the hell? I've been waiting 10 minutes for the "Play Halo 3 Beta" button to show up and it didn't, I tried restarting crackdown and it still didn't work, tried restarting the 360 and it STILL doesn't work.
 
Is it me or is the melee range on some weapons crazy? The Spiker in particular seems to make a player do a MK 3 Nightwolf shoulder slide across the screen.

I play with two groups of people. With one group, I'm the sniper and I sit back sometimes in Valhalla and High Ground. With the other group, I ride the warthog turret or hop in the banshee when it's available. Still, on maps like Snowbound and High Ground, which are less vehicle oriented, I RARELY go negative. The worst I usually do is +3/4.

But, like I've said before, without people killing the other team, the other teammates wouldn't have a chance to get the objective completed.

People almost successfully vetoed Snowbound Oddball the other day. I almost put an axe through the TV. My favorite game mode (I'm awesome at ball) on my favorite Oddball map, and people are vetoing. I was extra careful to punch everyone in the face.
 
Is there any precedent for towelling helping a 360 that freezes all the time, causing you to DNF and lose 2 RP? It seems like every night my first seven or so games have a 70% chance of freezing. I guess the console is just preheating :(

I like it, but they need to extend the timer, especially given Snowbound's cramped underground corridors, the play at the shield doors, and the skull's deadly striking power.

I wish there was a playlist for just Oddball. I've only played two games, and I won both of them.

But yeah, they need to extend the timer.

I agree. Oddball is my favorite game mode and i've only gotten it a few times in H3. My friends and I were always really good at it in Halo 2. I'd imagine it would destroy my K/D ratio more than any other gametype though -- but I'd get a lot of kill from the grave medals :D
